Dear Aunt, Will write you a card to let you know papa [John Arthur Robertson] is sick. He got sick friday night & has been in bed ever since. We had Dr. Taylor with him yesterday evening. He has pneumonia in one lung. His fever was 104 yesterday evening. How are you folks. Com when you can. Ruth.

Dodds in the death of Rosier Green of Bluford who was killed Friday night, met at two o'clock Saturday afternoon in the County Court house and after hearing the testimony of the seven-year old grandson of Willey Green, Mr. Green and others returned a verdict that Rosier Green came to his death by gunshot wounds inflicted by someone unknown to the jury.]

Dear Cousin Anna & Family will try and write you a few lines after so long a time intended writing sooner But ave bin upset and about down with Rheumatism for three mts [months?] the Drs gave me orders to quit hard work and to change climites so I came down here in the Ozarks thinking maybe it mite help me have bin here 3 weeks if I can get started out here someway I may make this my home

[Grandrill Robertson 1901-1970 was the son of Amos Thane & Lula Mae (Cravens) Robertson. He was born in Sims, IL and died in Roan Creek, CO. He was the grandson of Amos Sloane Robertson, brother of James Henry Robertson.]
Dear Mom & Dad. This is Friday morning. I am here at Edwards. Ruth is working. Edward don't fe[e]l too good he don't work. We are O.K and having a nice time. I hope everything and every body is OK down there. I'll write again soon. We are planning on going to Chicago Sun. to see Aunt Delia we will stay all nite with Muschotts Mon. nite and be home Tuesday if nothing happens. Grace.
Aunt Delia is Delia (Lane) Dove wife of William Dove, Albert Lathrop's uncle. Muschotts were family friends.
The postcard depicts a deer along a river with the words: "By the quiet waters - wish you were here, 'dear.' Greetings from Wayne City, Illinois."
Anna Butler Dies - Mrs. Mary Anna Butler, 83, of SIms, died at Memorial hospital at 5:10 am, Monday (today).
She had been hospitalized since March 13th.
The body was removed to the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, with funeral arrangements not completed at press hour.

Mrs. Mary Anna Butler, 83, of Sims, died at 5:10 am Monday at Memorial Hospital.
She had been in declining health for six months with cancer.
Mrs. Butler in recent years had made her home with a daughter, Mrs Paul Robertson, in Sims.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Richardson Chapel in Wayne City, with interment in Thomason cemetery.
Mary Ann, daughter of James and Mary Maulding Robertson, was born in Wayne county August 21st, 1883.
She was married to Morton Butler, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the Wayne City Methodist church.
Surviving are two sons, Edward, of Rockford; and James E. of Newburgh, Ind.; three daughters Mrs. Grace Lathrop of Wayne City; Mrs. Paul Robertson, of Sims; and Mrs. Ruth Hendershot, of Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Shaw, of Wayne City, and Mrs. Jennie Johnson, of Belle Rive; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
