James Hutchcraft told me yesterday evening that Billy Fry got married.  I want to take an airplane ride this evening after school if I don’t forget it.  Trixie, the children and I took the airplane ride over Wayne City, our home, and school.  This was our first ride and it was really nice.

   No school Labor Day
I had quite a time over the week-end.  I was sick with a cold.  This morning I went out with the tractor to mow and the valve stem started leaking.  I took the tire off and started to load it in the truck and the wheel fell over on me catching and twisting my left leg.  Trixie had to come and help lift it off.  I was scared that it might have broken it, but it never.

I still have a cold and my leg still hurts but it is a lot better this morning.  We got a nice little shower last night.  We really needed it because it was quite dry.  Trixie is going to try to get my tractor tire fixed today.  Mrs. Lane came in this morning with her arm swelled up.  She said she fell at the barn and she thinks she broke it.  She is going to the doctor.  Gen Smith is cooking in her place.

We are to turn out at 2 o’clock today for a teacher’s meeting.  Tonight is Board meeting.  It got down to 50° last night.  They are oiling the roads and loading the sand and gravel that is stored in the driveway. Omer Long was in yesterday and said that they would oil our driveway if we wanted it done.

It came a 2 inch snow last night.  It was really blowing and snowing.  I thought we couldn’t have school today, but it didn’t drift that bad.  Last night as I was going home I was driving too fast in the truck and I slipped on the ice turned the truck around in the road and landed in the ditch.  Clyde pulled me out with the bus.  We have a ball game with Wayne City tonight at W.C.

It snowed yesterday and last night.  It was 1° below zero this morning.  I started the truck up and turned the defroster on and let it run while I got ^finished getting ready for school.  When I came out the windshield was cracked almost all the way across.  And I also couldn’t get the truck to move it just sat there and spun.  I am pretty aggravated.
