First day of school enrolled 15 students 10 sixth graders 5 fifth graders.  Basketball:  Drill boys on charging and blocking fouls.  Pupils stay in when caught whispering in time of class.

I took my hog down to dad this morning.  Bernard [Lathrop] is going to take dad’s and mine to market.  I had an awful time getting mine to dad’s then I had to clean junk out of the truck.  Then the truck wouldn’t start.  I got the tractor and it ran out of gas then it wouldn’t start.  I finally gave up and went home it was ten until eight.  I had to get ready for school.  Got to school at 8:15.  I am all shook up.

Senior play today.  Plan to take all pupils who want to go.  I drove the bus to the play. We got a stray dog the other day.  It is a collie.

It came a big flood.  The road are flooded.  We had school although there were a lot of schools closed today in Jefferson County, Berry and Geff in Wayne County.  Dad got stranded at school yesterday.  He was unable to get home because of water over the road north of Wayne City.
