Sunday evening – I came over to school to work and I noticed the milk-card punch outs lying on the floor by my desk. I became suspicious that someone had stolen money out of my desk. I look[ed] to see. I remember having 2 one dollar bills and all that was left in the box was pennies. The cooks had told me earlier about missing money and Miss [Marsha] Elzy had some money taken.

It is 12° this morning and the wind blowing from the North. It seems to me with the wind it is colder than it has ever been. Trixie took off about 25 til 8 and left the kids out in the garage to wait for the bus. I like to never have gotten the truck out of the garage because of the slick snow. I thought I was going to have to leave it and ride the bus. I finally got it out. Suellyn was crying when I left because she had to stay and wait on the bus.
