Mrs. Ducy Mayberry 88 of Wayne City died at 12:10 am Thursday (today) at Hickory Grove Manor nursing home in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at the press hour. The body is at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City. She was born in Wayne County April 5, 1881 the daughter of Wesley and Delilah (Strouse) Harrolle. On Oct. 11, 1905 she was married to Charlie Robert Mayberry, with one son born to their union. Her husband passed away in 1906 [sic]. Mrs. Mayberry was a member of the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are one son Rev. H.H. Mayberry of Wayne City and one brother Fred Harrolle of Vandalia.

Rev. Harrolle H. Mayberry, 82 Wayne City former school teacher and Baptist minister died at 2:50 am. Wednesday Dec. 28, 1988 at Way-Fair Restorium in Fairfield. He had been in ill health for about a year. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Branch cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City and also from noon till service time at the church. Rev. Mayberry was born June 19, 1906 in Wayne County, the son of Charles and Ducy (Harrolle) Mayberry. On Dec. 26, 1926 he was wed to Lucile Trotter, who survives. He taught school in Wayne County for 15 years about 40 years ago. He was ordained in 1938 and has pastored at many area Baptist churches, including Pleasant Hill, Hickory Hill in Jefferson County, Samaria Baptist near Albion, Indian Prairie near Rinard, and New Zion and Olive Branch here in Wayne County. He was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. Rev. Mayberry is survived by his wife, two daughters Velma Dickey of Locust Grove, Okla. and Nona Green of Flora; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lucile Mayberry, 88 of rural Wayne City died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 14, 1992 at Way-Fair Restorium, where she had been a resident several years. She was the widow of Rev. H.H. Mayberry. Funeral services will be 1:30 Saturday afternoon from the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Sefried and Rev. Charles Musgrave officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City and at the church 12 noon to the funeral hour Saturday. She was born in Hamilton County Aug. 12, 1904 the daughter of William and Mary (Garrison) Trotter. On Dec. 26, 1926 she was married to H.H. Mayberry. He died Dec. 28, 1988. Mrs. Mayberry is a member of the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Velma Dickey of Locust Grove, Okla. and Nona Green of Flora; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; 8 step great-great-grandchildren; four brothers Naaman Trotter of Dahlgren, Miles Trotter of Sterling, Lawrence Trotter of Metamoria, and Cecil Trotter of McLeansboro and one sister Zana Belle Wilkerson of Dahlgren.

Velma Arlene Dickey, 88, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, the widow of the late Orville Dickey, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016. Velma and Orville worked together to raise a family and farm. In 1963, they both began working at the Fairfield Garment Factory. In 1982, Velma moved to Oklahoma. After moving to Oklahoma, she continued to work in the garment industry and retired from Fabricut near Pryor, Okla. A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Dickeyville Cemetery near Sims. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Hosselton Funeral Home. Velma was born on October 14, 1928, to Rev. Harrolle Halsey and Lucile (Trotter) Mayberry. She married the late Orville Dickey on March 1, 1946. Velma was also a member of the Cisne Missionary Baptist Church. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Locust Grove and was honored for thirty years of service working in church nurseries. Velma was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. She also crocheted many rugs, which she often gave to family members and friends. Survivors include her sons, Elbert (Peggy) Dickey of Lincoln, Neb.; Steven (Janice) Dickey of Cisne; Norman (Rita) Dickey of Rockton, Ill.; a daughter Virginia (Mike) Bayless of Locust Grove, Okla.; daughter-in-law Peggy Dickey of Mt. Erie; and sister Nona Greene of Flora. Velma was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, Stacey Simpson, Debbie Benca, Michelle Crawford, Chad Dickey, Julie Myskow, Mark Dickey, Lisa Giesbrecht, Andrew Dickey, Janet Kueker, Dovie Bayless, Matthew Dickey, Michael Dickey, Ryan Dickey, Felecia Bayless, Clarissa Bayless and Allen Bayless. She also had twenty-seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Velma in death were her parents; her beloved husband; and two children, Robert (infant) and Allen (Mt. Erie).

Darrell Morris, 81, of Flora died at 3:55 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at his home in Flora.
He worked for Dowell and Fairfield Acid Company and served in the U.S. Army durin ghte Korean Conflict.
Funeral services for Darrell Morris were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. There was no visitation.
Darrell was born January 6, 1931 in Centralia to Billy and Elsie (Maulding) Morris. He married Bonita Holland on June 16, 1951 in Flora.
He was a member of Flora First United Methodist Church. He was well respected in the oil field industry.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Bonita, three daughters: Linda (Rick) Frost of Flora; Jan (Matt) Bible of Louisville; Joy (Steve) Sauter of Wildwood, Mo.; two brothers: Marlin (Lorene) Morris of Salem; Jack (Carolyn) Morris of Mayfield, Ky.; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson.

Dorothy "Dot" Glover, 89, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 12:32 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born March 16, 1921 to Joe and Gertrude (Kniess) Maulding of McLeansboro, and later attended school in McLeansboro. She married James Edward Glover in St. Charles, Mo.and he preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived her son, James "Jim"Glover of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and daughter JoAnn (Glover) Davis and husband Dan of Mt. Vernon; grandson Jason Hayes and wife Chris; granddaughter Brooke Davis; great-grandson Cole James Hayes and three stepgreat grandsons, Cody West, Jesse Marks and Wyatt Marks; a sister-in-law Norma Ruth Bradford and sons Jim Bradford and wife Sharon, Roy Dean Bradford and wife Barbara and Bill Bradford and families all of Mount Vernon; cousins, Thompson "Tom" and Tommy Maulding and family and Mary Frances and husband Bobby York and family all of McLeansboro.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Jim; two sisters, Mary Shehorn and Bertha Herbeck; beloved daughter Debbie, who was born with cerebral palsy and died in 1993 at the age of 36; niece Ruth Ann (Bradford) Lee and nephew William "Bill" Shehorn, who is survived by his wife, Joyce (Aeschliman) Shehorn and their two sons. Rick Shehorn and wife Julie and their children who all reside in Ohio.
Dorothy worked at the Illinois Brokerage on Ninth Street until it was destroyed by fire. She also held the positions of deputy assessor Shiloh Township for 12 years, Shiloh Township assessor for 16 years and clerk until her retirement in 2009 after serving a total of 39 years for the township.
Dorothy was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, home room mother, and served as president and secretary of The United Cerebral Palsy Association for many years. She was a past president of the VFW auxiliary; American Legion; and active in the Lady Bugs Association; past president of the Republican Women; served on the City Housing Board from 1976 to 2010 as secretary and vice chairman; and also served on the Police and Fire Commission; and the Handicapped Commissioners of City of Mt. Vernon. Dorothy was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She will be greatly missed by her family, co-workers and many friends who she cherished and the community in which she so proudly served throughout her life. . . .
Private funeral services and burial at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn will be held at a later date with Pastor Wayland Middendorf officiating.

Harry S. Maulding, 77, 803 Park Ave, and late of Pomona Park, Fla., died May 24, 1989 at Putnam Community Hospital in Palatka, Fla.
Mr. Maulding was retired from the State of Illinois Vocational Rehabilitation Department. He assisted in keeping the Mt. Vernon Kings, a class A minor league baseball club, in the city until the team's existance as a pro club ended with the 1954 season.
Mr. Maulding was born June 18, 1911, in Hamilton County, a son of the Rev. Cyrus W. and Alma Maude (Shaw) Maulding. Sept. 6, 1936 in Van Buren, Mo., he married Louise Witzel, who survives.
Mr. Maulding, who survives.
Mr. Maulding moved to Mt. Vernon in 1925 when his father became pastor of Park Avenue Baptist Church. The deceased was a 1929 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in banking and finance and economics from University of Illinois.
He was employed as a case worker for the Illinois Emergency Relief Commission from Oct. 1, 1934, through July 1, 1936. He then became director of the commission and established the Mt. Vernon Relief Commission.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Maulding and his wife have both lived in Mt. Vernon and Florida. He spent four of those years as manager of Mt. Vernon Stores, Inc.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Auxier officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. . . .
In addition to his wife, Mr. Maulding is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Deloris Louise) Mount of Kell; and three grandchildren, David G. Mount of Kell, Delora L. Mount of Urbana and Jerry D. Mount of East Orange, N.J.
Mr. Maulding was a member of Mt. Vernon Lions Club and served as club president during 1959-60. He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.

Louise Witzel Maulding, 95, of Mt. Vernon, died 3:15 a.m. Saturday at the White Oak Rehabilitationi and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
Louise was born a daughter of Charles Witzel and Jessie Florence (Dodson) Witzel on Sept. 6, 1912, in Cravat. She married Harry Shaw Maulding, the son of Rev. William Cyrus and Alma (Shaw0 Maulding on Sept. 6, 1936, in Van Buren, Mo.He preceded her in death.
Louise was a long time member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. She owned and operated the "mom and pop" store called "Mauldings's Hilltop Grocery" at the corner of Park Avenue and Tolle Road (Eighth Street). After retiring from the grocery store, Louise and Harry worked for four years as managers of the Mt. Vernon Stores Warehouse, Inc.
She is survived by her daughter Deloris Louise and husband Roy Mount of Kell; one granddaughter Dr. Delora Mount of Madison, Wisc.; two grandsons, David Gene Mount of Kell, and Jerry Dean Mount and wife Kayoka of Iowa City, Iowa; one niece, Sherry and husband Stanton "Buck" Williams; and one nephew Terry Witzel and wife Sherry, both of Woodlawn.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with Pastors Chuck Ellis and Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Mt. Vernon. . . .

Roy and Deloris Mount of Kell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 6, 1960, by the Rev. Ross Partridge at Pleasant Hill Church.
Maid of honor was Sherry (Witzel) Williams, cousin of the bride. Best man was Bob Mount, cousin of the groom. Attendants were Carolyn Tullis, college roommate; Claudia Goldman, college roommate; Gary Witzel, bride's cousin; and Harley "Bud" Mount Jr., brother of the groom.
The flower girls were Sherry Mount and Susan Reeves. The ring bearer was Allen Hawkins
Roy is the son of the late Harley and Beulah Mount of Kell. Deloris is the daughter of the late Harry and Louise Maulding of Mt. Vernon.
They have three children, David Mount of Kell, Dr. Delora Mount of Madison, Wis., and Jerry Mount of Iowa City, Iowa. Another son Stephen Allen Mount is deceased.

Raleigh Maulding Hamilton, of McLeansboro, passed away at 2:37 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He joined the First Christian Church in 1939, although he attended First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro in recent years.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Dahlgren Township to John Chester and Emily (Maulding) Hamilton on Nov. 24, 1912. He spent the last 31 years of his 59 years in the lumber yard business as manager and joint owner of Hamilton County Lumber Company. He was a 60 year active member of the Polk Lodge 137 where he served as master in 1947 and later as District Deputy Grand Master. In addition, he was a member of Ainad Temple Shrine, Order of Eastern Star 702, and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem 94, where he served in various offices, Raleigh also was a member of the Elks, AARP, and a charter member of the Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife Ruby (Morris) Hamilton of McLeansboro; his daughter Phyllis Giles of Dallas; one son, Delbert; one grandson, Bradley Giles of Denton, Texas; two granddaughters, Faith Hayenga of Rochelle and Kelly Wachsmuth of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Beryl and two brothers, Charles Emory and John Eldon.
Visitation services will be Saturday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Masonic rites will be held at the beginning of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Revs. Harrel Hungate and Ken Cook will officiate. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro.

Willia Dee June, 90, St. Louis, formerly of McLeansboro, died 10:25 p.m. April 23, 1994, at Lutheran Convalescent Home in Webster Groves, Mo.
Mrs. June was a retired nurse supervisor at Rosewood State Hospital in Owings Mills, Md.
She was born Sept. 6, 1903, in Hamilton County, a daughter of Jewel Edgar and Josephine (Burgess) Mitchell. She first married William M. Maulding, who preceded her on Dec. 21, 1931. In Clayton, Mo., she married Milo J. June, who survives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. W.C. Ward officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. . . .
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Dollie Boxley of St. Louis; a sister-in-law, Julia Mitchell of McLeansboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. June was of the Baptist faith. She was past president of Alpha Zeda Chapter Beta Sigma Phi in Baltimore, Md., she was listed in the World Who's Who of Women and the Book of Honor, Second Edition.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tommy Maulding, a sister and a brother.

Joel Donald Maulding, 79, of Murray, Ky., and formerly of the Mt. Vernon area, died 11:25 p.m., June 17, 1999.
He was employed for 32 years by the Sherwin-Williams Co. and was a warehouse manager in Dayton, Ohio, for the last several years.
Born Feb. 25, 1920, in Jefferson County, he was a son of Otto Williams Maulding and Inez M. (Perkins) Maulding, both deceased.
He married Margaret Fern Maynor on Nov. 6, 1937 at Henderson, Ky., and she survives.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Sunday. J. Howard Kraps will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn-Odd Fellows Cemetery in Woodlawn. Those attending the graveside services on Sunday are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; son, Thomas Joel Maulding and wife, Pat, of Monterey, Tenn.; grandchildren Michael Maulding, Kristina Maulding, Marcus Maulding, Stefainija Maulding and Joshua Maulding; great-grandchildren, Jessica Maulding and Marcus Maulding; sister Trudis Schmidt and husband Philip of Lafayette, Ind.; sister-in-law Jane Maynor of Mt. Vernon; brother-in-law Walter Maynor and wife Agnes of Mt. Vernon; niece, Judy Quigley of Baton Rouge, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lee Otto Maulding and Robert Earl Maulding.
Mr. Maulding was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II, enlisted Oct. 10, 1942, discharged Dec. 5, 1945.

Josephine Muehlenbein Maulding, 78, McLeansboro, passed away 7 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. .Vernon.
She worked at Elder Manufacturing and was a cook at Aden School, Hamilton Memorial Hospital and Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center.
She was born June 29, 1931 in Dale, a daughter of Ralph and Ersie Eldora (Irvin) Essary.
Josephine married Lloyd Eugene Muehlenbein on Dec. 25, 1951 in Bluford; he died April 8, 1992. She married William T. Maulding on June 14, 1997 in McLeansboro; he survives.. . .
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harre Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim Hefner, Robert Sefried and Tony Phelps officiating. Burial will be at Crouch Cemetery in Belle Prairie.
In addition to husband William T. Maulding of McLeansboro, survivors include two daughters, Teresa Belangee and husband Eddie of Dahlgren and Kim Runge and husband Curtis of Marion; one stepson, Tom Maulding of McLeansboro; two granddaughters, Kelli Webb and husband Adam of Springfield and Terri Newbury and husband Ben of Dahlgren; one grandson, Mike Belangee and wife Lynn of Dahlgren; three stepgrandchildren, Leslie Danage and husband Trae of Peoria, Lynn Braden and husband Curt of McLeansboro and Wade Maulding and wife Jennifer of McLeansboro; two great-grandchildren Carson and Carter Belangee; five step-great-grandchildren, Hunter and Chloe Braden and Hayden Maulding of McLeansboro and Amira and Kahlel Danage of Peoria; and three sisters, Irene Phelps and husband Bill of Olney, Betty Stout and companion Clifford Smith of Eldorado and Norma Toothman and husband Charles E of Broughton.
Mrs. Maulding attended the Dahlgren Community Chapel. She loved gardening, flowers and quilting as well as dancing. She was a member of the McLeansboro Beautification Task Force.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lloyd Muehlenbein; and a brother, Ray Essary. . . .
