Valentine.  It has really warmed up the last two days it seems almost like spring.  These kinds of days really make you feel like staying home and being outside.  We have ball practice tonight.  This will be one long day.  I had two boys smoking on Clyde’s bus Monday night.  Kenneth Mayberry and Paul Seidel.  Mr. Wilson gave them a spanking and I told Paul he couldn’t play in the game next Friday.

Check Robert’s spelling.  Report cards go out today.  Be at Elston Gurley’s at 3 o’clock.  First day of spring.  It is better to come to a dead stop than to stop dead.  Some people get to where they are going sooner by driving fast, sometimes 40 or 50 years sooner.

We have a track meet tomorrow at Wayne City.  We don’t have enough boys for a heavy weight team but I think we will have a fairly good light weight team.  Trixie kept the car today and I am waiting on her now to come and get me.  I hope she hurries up.
