Children:
Morton b. 8/13/1883

Maynard b. 10/29/1891 IL, d. 11/3/1913, IL, never married.  Maynard attended Illinois State University and became a school teacher.  He died when his appendix burst. Maynard was only 22 years old.  His parents put up a very large monument for him in Mount Olive Cemetery.

Maynard's Obituary:
Maynard Butler, son of Geo. F. and Florence d. Butler, was born in Wayne county, Illinois, Oct. 29, 1891; departed this life Nov. 3rd, 1913. Age 22 years and 5 days.

Maynard was a good boy, kind and loving to his parents, brother, sister and in fact to everyone.  He was cut down in Youth's Bright Morn, but "God's will be done, not ours."  He leaves a father, mother, one brother, one sister and a host of friends to mourn his departure.

He was one of Wayne county's young and successful teachers, having received his education in this county and at the State Normal at Normal, Ill.  Rev. W.C. Cissna conducted the funeral service, Tuesday at Mount Olive church and the body was laid to rest in the Mount Olive cemetery.

Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep. Where none shall ever wake to weep.

Arthur b. 8/25/1894 IL, d. 9/16/1895 IL, age 1

Flossie b. 4/14/1897 IL, d. 3/24/1982 IL, md. 1) Jeffrey Long, 1922, md. 2) ? White.  It's possible that Flossie was married a third time.  Flossie had no children.  She was Flossie White at the time of her death and lived in a small house in Wayne City.  According to the census records Jeff Long & Flossie lived in Centralia, which is probably why George moved there ca. 1933.  Jeff owned a mercantile store in 1930 and a car dealership and gun shop in 1940.  My grandma Grace would take me to Aunt Flossie's house to check in on her when I was a little kid.

Flossie's obituary:
Flossie B. White, 84, a resident of Fairfield and Wayne City, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 3:15 pm Wednesday in Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. White had entered the Mt. Vernon hospital to have a hip operation. She had no history of  heart complications, the Press was told.

She had undergone hip surgery in Memorial Hospital in September and resided briefly in Way-Fair Restorium following that operation to regain strength before she was to undergo the more complicated surgery in Mt. Vernon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richardson's Funeral Home in Wayne City with Rev. E.R. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

Visitation will be conducted after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born in Bluford, April 14, 1897, the daughter of George and Florence D. (Gentles) Butler. She attended school in Bluford, Pin Oak School and Brown's College.

Her husband preceded her in death eight years ago.

Mrs. White was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.

She had worked as a beautician and nurse's aide in Centralia and moved to Fairfield from Wayne City two years ago. Mrs. White made her home in the Diamond Apartments prior to being hospitalized in September.

Survivors include two nephews, Edward Butler, of Wayne City; and Everett Butler of Evansville, Ind.; and one neice Mrs. Paul (Mable) Robertson of Sims.
