1742 - Aug. 17 - Elizabeth, Essex Co., NJ - Will abstract:

Clark, Richard of the Borough of Elizabeth, Essex Co., ship carpenter. 

Children: Hannah, Richard, Abigail, Elizabeth, Henry, John, Jonathan. 

Land: purchased of Sayre about 200 acres. Had both real and personal estate.

Executors: sons Richard, Henry, Jonathan

Witnesses: Edward Willmott, Edward Griffing, Nath'l Hubbell 

1742 - Aug. 17 - Elizabeth, Essex Co., NJ - "being very sick and weak," Richard made his will and died

within a month. The will was not probated until May 17, 1742, possibly on account of the illness of his son Richard, who was one of the executors, along with his brothers Henry and Jonathon. The will described lands already deeded to his sons and leaves to each of his daughters Abigail and Elizabeth, "one of my large puter platers." 

1743 - May 15 - Elizabeth, Essex Co., NJ - Probate - In his note of May 15, 1743, son Richard III "being sick and weak" asks to be released from the executorship of his father's will and that his two brothers take sole charge of the estate. 

17 Sept. 1743 - Elizabeth, Essex Co., NJ - Inventory of Personal Estate - amounted to ￡40.06.05 including bond of Jonathan Clark. The inventory was carried out by William Clark & George Ross.
