In Memoriam July 7th

1996 John Wesley Fitzgerald, 90, of Fairfield, died at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., at 8:19 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 1996.
He was a retired Fairfield city electric department employee.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon (today) from the Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. Lawrence Ward officiating.  Burial was in the Koontz Cemetery here.  A visitation was held Sunday evening at the Johnson Chapel.
He was born at Iola Apr. 1, 1906, the son of Wakefield [sic] and Adeline Wilson Fitzgerald.
On Mar. 24, 1930, he was married to Mary Hudson.
Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of the Kings Chapel Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, seven brothers and sisters and two grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, John W. Fitzgerald Jr., of Fairfield; Charles Wesley Fitzgerald, Fairfield; and Henry Lee Fitzgerald, of Shelbyville; two daughters, Pansie Markham and Nancy Linder, both of Fairfield; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

1997 Raymond R. Shaw, 98, of Henderson, Ky., and a former resident of rural Mt. Vernon died 3:35 p.m.  July 7, 1997, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, Ky.
He was a farmer.
Mr. Shaw was born April 10, 1899, in Wayne County, a son of Charles and Laura (Robertson) Shaw.  He first married Flossie Ellis in 1924.  She died in 1925.  He later married Gladys Webb in 1927; she died in 1964.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
Those attending the services for Mr. Shaw on Thursday morning are asked to go directly to the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hughey Funeral Home.
Mr. Shaw is survived by one son, Conrad Shaw and wife Freda of Henderson, Ky.; two grandchildren, Brian Shaw of Nashville, Tenn., and Gayle Osborne and husband Ron of Sebree, Ky.; one great-grandchild, Lauren Skelton of Sebree, Ky.; one brother James Shaw of Wayne City; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
