In Memoriam March 21st

1596 Margaret Cunninghame in Scotland.  She married James Morehead and they had six children: James, Claud, unnamed son, Elizabeth, Margaret and David.

1836 James Fitzgerald in Gibson Co., IN age 91 the son of James & Mary Fitzgerald was born 1745 in Orange Co., VA.  He married Jane Bruce in Orange Co., VA in 1787 and they had twelve children: Johnson, John, James, Reuben, Frances, Mary, Nancy, Sarah, Derritt and Stephen.


1966 Elzo Smith, 73, of Louisville died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21 [1966], in Richland Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for six days.

Mr. Smith was born in Pixley township, Clay County, November 20, 1892, the son of the late John H. and Martha Montgomery Smith.
Surviving besides his wife Mayme are two daughters, Mrs. Kermit (Veneta) Hagan and Mrs. Robert (Martha Sue) Farris, both of Louisville, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; three half-brothers, Opal Smith, Detroit, Mich.; Harold and Earl Smith, Clay City; 3 half-sisters, Mrs. Hazel Webb and Mrs. Magdelena Snell Clay City and Mrs. Ethel Bryan of Flora. 
The body was at the Dillman Funeral Home until 1:00 p.m. today (Thursday) when it was taken to the Louisville Methodist Church to lie in state until 2:00 p.m. when rites were conducted by Rev. Roy Cole and Rev. S. J. Harshman.  Internment was in Orchard Hill Cemetery.
LOUISVILLE - Last rites for Elzo R. Smith, 73, of Louisville, who died Monday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Louisville Methodist church, with burial in the Orchard Hill cemetery.  Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Dillman funeral home in Louisville.
