In Memoriam June 12th

1919 William Miller in Harlan Co., NE, son of William & Jane (Edwards) Miller, age 63.  He was born in Columbus, IN in 1856 and married Ida Upson.  They had 8 children: Glenn, Charles, Earl, William, Luella, Julius, Halbert and Doris.

1990 Kay McKinney, 42, of Wayne City, died 10:18 a.m. June 12, 1990 at her home.

Mrs. McKinney was a postal carrier.

She was born Sept. 6, 1947 in Hamilton County, a daughter of Marshall and Opal (Erkmann) Hall. She married Danny McKinney who survives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with the Revs. John Ashby and Donnie Rector officiating.  Burial will follow in Garrison Cemetery, south of Wayne City.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. McKinney is survived by her mother of Wayne City; one son, Kelby McKinney of Wayne City; one daughter, Tonia White of Wayne City; and one brother Kenney Hall of Wayne City.

Mrs. McKinney was a member of Keenes Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A rural Wayne City woman, Mrs. Kay McKinney, 42, was found dead across the road from her home near the Wayne-Hamilton County line late Tuesday morning.

Her death was due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, with a .22 caliber rifle.

Mrs. McKinney was found by her husband Dannie McKinney, upon his return home.

Coroner Nathan Veatch of Hamilton County will conduct an inquest into the death, with no date set yet for the inquest.

Mrs. McKinney was a rural mail carrier out of Wayne City.

Funeral services were conducted from the Richardson Funeral Home Thursday morning (today) with Rev. John Ashby and Rev. Donnie Rector officiating.  Interment was in Garrison cemetery south of Wayne City.  Visitation was held Wednesday evening.

Kay, daughter of Marshall and Opal Erkmann Hall, was born in Hamilton County Sept. 6, 1947.

She was married to Dannie McKinney.

Mrs. McKinney was a member of the Keenes Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband; her mother, Mrs. Opal Hall of Wayne City; a son, Kelby McKinney, rural Wayne City; a daughter, Tonia White, rural Wayne City; and one brother, Kenney Hall of rural Wayne City.
