In Memoriam June 19th

1625 Mary (Pullen) Talcott in England.  She married John Talcott and they had six children: Thomas, Grace, Joanna, Marie, Eme and John.

1997 Mrs. Viola Lathrop 91 of Fairfield died Thursday morning (today) June 19, 1997 at Way-Fair Restorium.
She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Bitting officiating.  Burial will be in the Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 Friday evening at the Johnson Chapel.
She was born in White County May 17, 1906, the daughter of Charles and Bessie Dunn Brown.  She was reared by a stepmother Lillian Brown.
She was married to Roscoe Lathrop, who passed away Mar. 9, 1963.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and three brothers.
She reared her family in the Wayne City area and moved to Fairfield 34 years ago.
Mrs. Lathrop was a member of the Fairfield First Baptist Church. 
Surviving are three sons, Glen of Fairfield; and Mervin and Howard, both of Granite City; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
2013 78-year-old Carmi resident, Wanda Colclasure Smith died Wendesday June 19 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.  She had worked at Spartan Manufacturing in Grayville.
Survivors include her husband Mike Smith of Carmi; a son, Lowell Jordan of Burnt Prairie; four daughters, Towana Wilkerson of Hartsville, TN, Shirley Anderson of Harrisburg, Mary Davis of Carmi, Misty Austin of Weedville, PA and Ronda Baylor of Salem, IN; 13 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren; three brothers Lowell and Jimmy Colclasure of Theresa, WI and Gary Colclasure of Strawberry Plains, TN; two sisters Carolyn Armstrong of Sevierville, TN and Pat Feucht of Brownsville, WI and many friends and relatives.
Services for Wanda Colclasure Smith will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery.

She was born on September 28, 1934 in Merriam to Lowell and Hazel (Waln) Colclasure.
She married Mike Smith of Carmi.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Lowell (Leasa) Jordan of Burnt Prairie; four daughters, Towena (Jim) Wilkerson of Hartsville, Tenn., Shirley (Ron) Anderson of Harrisburg, Mary Davis of Carmi and Teresa (Dennis) Woodrow of Springerton; three step-daughters, Evelyn (David) Dismang of Carmi, Misty Austin of Weedville, Pa., and Rhonda (Terry) Baylor of Salem, Ind.; three brothers, Lowell Colclasure and Jimmy Colclasure of Theresa, Wis., and Gary (Joan) Colclasure of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; two sisters, Carolyn (Colin) Armstrong of Sevierville, Tenn., and Pat (Rick) Feucht of Brownsville, Wis.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and many other relatives. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Donnie and Vivian Waln; one sister, Shirley Goodman Moore, one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
