Fauquier County courthouse in Warrenton, Virginia. The county was created in 1759 from Prince William. Several of our ancestors lived in the section of Prince William that became Fauquier so that when they appear in Fauquier they had not necessarily moved there.

Bushrod Doggett - son of Richard & Eliabeth (Bushrod) Doggett was born ca. 1707. He married Anne Stribling in King George Co., VA in 1737. They had eight children: Susanna, Molly, Sarah, Elizabeth, Nancy, George, Joel and Richard. He purchased 341 acres in Fauquier Co., from Charles & Elizabeth Morgan in 1764 (see next). Bushrod died in Culpeper Co., VA in 1791.
Charles Morgan Jr. - son of Charles & Ann (?) Morgan married a woman named Elizabeth before 1764. They had at least one son Joseph. His estate was in proabte court in Culpeper Co., VA in 1782.
Charles Morgan Sr. - son of Anthony & Elizabeth (?) Morgan was born in Old Rappahannock Co., VA in 1680. He married a woman named Ann and had eight children: Charles, Benjamin, Simon, James, Alice, John, William and Mary. He purchased 392 acres in Hamilton Parish adjacent to his son Charles' property in 1740. Charles wrote his will Dec. 5, 1758 and it was probated in Sept. 1766 in Fauquier Co.
Simon Morgan - son of Charles & Ann (?) Morgan (above). His will written in 1792 gave 162 acres "being 1/3 of the plantation whereon I live," 77 1/2 acres in Fauquier and 200 acres on Pignut Ridge to his son Joseph; 1/3 tract of 486 acres whereon I live which had been his wife's property to his son Charles; and his son Simon received the final 1/3 of the home plantation. His children Jeremiah, Sucky (Morgan) Clark and Caty (Morgan) Bradford received £10 each. His daughter Rosey (Morgan) Cockrum was given 1 shilling and Rosey's son William received £10.
William Morgan - son of Charles & Ann (?) Morgan was born ca. 1730. He married Mary Duncan possible daughter of John and they had a son Charles. After Mary's death William married a woman named Elizabeth. They had thirteen children: John, James, Joseph, William, Daniel, Sally, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Alice, Rosamond, Frances & Phoebe. William was a land speculator. He eventually sold all his Fauquier Co. property and moved to Lincoln Co. which became Lincoln Co. Kentucky in 1792. William's will and probate records are in the courthouse in Somerset Kentucky. He died there in 1797.
James Morgan - son of Charles & Ann (?) Morgan married Elizabeth Taylor and had at least two children: Elizabeth & Spencer. James died in Fauquier Co. in 1763 and his property had not been divided in the 1770 tax rolls as it is listed as belonging to the "heirs of James Morgan."
John Morgan - son of Charles & Ann (?) Morgan. He worked as a weaver as well as a farmer.
John Morehead - son of Charles & Mary (Nelms) Morehead was born ca. 1688 in Northumberland Co., VA. He married a woman named Mary and they had ten children: Hannah, Joseph, Alexander, William, Mary, Elizabeth, Samuel, Presley, Charles and John. He received a 167 acre tract in Hamilton Parish from Lord Fairfax in 1742. John wrote his will in June 1768 and his estate went to probate the same year. It must have been drawn out as his land is still on the tax rolls and he is listed as deceased in 1770.
