1633 Hannah (House)
Lathrop in London age 43. She was born
in Groton, England in 1590 the daughter of Rev. John & Alice (Lloyd)
House. Hannah married Rev. John Lathrop
Oct. 10, 1610 in England and they had eight children: Jane, Anne, John, Barbara, Thomas, Samuel,
Joseph and Benjamin. She died while Rev.
John was in prison.
1711 Mary (White)
Leffingwell age 99 in Norwich, CT. The daughter of Edward & Martha (?)
White was born in England in 1612. She
married Thomas Leffingwell and had at least one son Sgt. Thomas
Leffingwell. She is buried in the Old
Norwichtown Cemetery in Norwich, CT.
1719 Colonel John
Bushrod in Westmoreland Co., VA age 56.
The son of Richard & Apphia (?) Bushrod was born in Gloucester Co.,
VA January 30, 1663.
1987 Meryl Anderson
age 71 in Delano, CA the son of Elmer & Edna (Wilkin) Anderson was born in
Illinois in 1916. The family was living
in California by 1940. Meryl was a
farmer. He married Marie ? They are buried in North Kern Cemetery in
Delano, CA.
1912 William
Lawrence in Wayne Co., IL age 46. He was
born in Johnson Co., IL in 1865 the son of B.T. & Amanda (Morray)
Lawrence. William married Aohalia
Robertson Nov. 11, 1886 in Wayne Co., IL.
They had seven children, two who died in infancy, Wilna, Ortha, Fay,
Leafy and Fleta.
1989 Frank Phillips
age 86 the husband of Velma Wilkin.
2008 Marilyn Downey, 63,
of Wayne City, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at her
residence.
She was born Aug. 11, 1944 in Wayne City, the daughter of Ruby Marie (Lathrop) and Howard Earl Shelton. She married Charles “Chuck” Downey on Sept. 19, 1962, at Mt. Zion United Methodist church. Mrs. Downey was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Ruby Shelton of Wayne City; husband, Charles “Chuck” Downey of Wayne City; two daughters Robbin Downey of Wayne City and Della Stephens of Wayne City; four sons, Pete Downey and wife Misty of Taft, Texas, Charles “Chuck” Downey II and wife Cheri of Wayne City, Ray Downey Sr. of Ina and Ray Downey Jr. of Wayne City; a daughter-in-law Karla Downey of Lawrenceville; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother Ronnie Shelton of Wayne City; and several special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Downey was preceded in death by her father and one son, Joe Downey.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in Farnsworth Cemetery south of Keenes.
The Rev. Elton “Bud” Storey will officiate. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Saturday morning.
