1920 Chester Harvey
Wilfong was born In Wayne county, III., Jan. 20, 1892, and passed from this
life at his home in Flora, III., Jan. 31, 1920, at the age of 28 years, 11
days. His death was caused by pneumonia, following an attack of the flu. Mr. Wilfong grew up In Wayne and Clay
counties and was well known In Flora, where he was highly respected. On Jan.
29,.1911, he was united In marriage to Miss Laura P. Freese, who survives him.
Four children are left In her care: Herman H., Herschel E., Audry F. and
Chester E. His father died when he was
two years of age, while his mother still lives. One brother and one sister and
three half brothers and one half sister also survive. Mr. Wilfong was a locomotive carpenter and is
highly spoken of by his fellow workmen. He was a quiet, kind man, devoted to
bis family, especially anxious that his chiIdren should profit by a father's
care, which he himself had missed. The children were all sick while the father
was making the losing fight for his life. Mrs. Wilfong also suffered from the
flu and overwork and worry. Funeral
services were conducted at the home on Third street Monday at 2:80 p. m., by W.
C. Macurdy. who was assisted at the grave by the Modern Woodman with their
Impressive ceremony. Ths Interment was at Elmwood cemetery.

1951 Lawrenceville County
News - The funeral service for Leland Delbert Lathrop, 35, was held Friday
afternoon in the Methodist Church in Bridgeport Methodist Church in Bridgeport
with burial in the Bridgeport cemetery. As
stated last week, Lathrop was killed in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Wednesday of last
week when a car in which he was riding was struck by a train. A resident of Antioch, Lathrop was the
operator of an automobile transport truck and was at Kenosha where the truck
was undergoing repairs. He was born in
Urbana, a son of William G. and Nora McCulley Lathrop. He grew to manhood in Lawrence County and
attended the Lawrenceville high school.
Both parents died within recent years.
He is survived by his widow, Doris Dalrymple Lathrop, a daughter, Lois,
and three brothers, Don and Harold of this county, and George Lathrop of San
Antonio, Texas.
Lawrenceville Leader - Lealand Delbert Lathrop was killed suddenly at 7:30 Tuesday morning at Kenosha, Wisconsin, when the car he was driving was struck by a fast electric train. The crossing is protected by light flashers and no gates, it was stated. Mr. and Mrs. Lathrop have lived in Antioch, Illinois, for the past two months and he was on his way to work in Kenosha when the accident occurred. Mr. Lathrop is the son of the late William G. Lathrop and Nora MCauley Lathrop, having been born in Urbana, Ill., April 24, 1915. He was employed by a motor transport corporation moving autos as a driver. He is a graduate of Bridgeport Township high school. His [sic] is survived by his wife Doris (Dalrymple) and a daughter, Lois; three brothers, Don of Lawrenceville; Harold of Sumner and George of San Antonio. The body rests at the Fessant Funeral Home in Bridgeport until time for the services. The funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the Bridgeport Methodist church. Burial at the Bridgeport cemetery.
1973 Elmer Wilkin
age 79 the son of John & Mary (Smith) Wilkin was born in 1893. He married Delia Robinson in 1916.
1988 Truman Wilkin
age 81 brother of Elmer above was born in 1906.
He married Bernice Colburn.
2009 Ruby (Haile)
Shaw age 77 in Fairfield, IL. The
daughter of Fred & Mary (Calvin) Haile was born in Dahlgren, IL in
1931. She married Verschel Shaw in Mt.
Vernon, IL in 1949 and they had seven children.
She is buried in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL.
