To this union were born three sons and five daughters, all of whom, together iwth the husband have preceded her to the better world, except one sone, Gilbert Hord of this county, and one daughter, Mrs. Clara Cornwell of Neoga. She was converted and with the husband united with the Lucas Creek Christian church in 1872 and always after lived as close to her savior as she could. She worked hard in rearing her own eight children, besides assisting in rearing four of her brother's children and six of her grandchildren. John Hord having died October 9, 1887, she was again married, in September, 1905, to Edward Smith, who died in August, 1906.
