Andrew Crissel


1790 Lincoln County, NC census entry for Andrew Crissel, Sr.  There were 3 males under the age of 16, 3 over sixteen and 4 females.  

The name has been spelled Crisel, Crissel, Crissell, Crysel and Kristle.  Not much is known about Andrew. He was born ca. 1718 possibly in Germany.  He married Mary Miller, the daughter of Michael  in Lincoln County.  They had at least nine children born in North Carolina.  Between 1790 and 1800 Andrew moved his family to Logan County, Kentucky.

Andrew is said to have died at age 105 in March 1823 in Logan County, Kentucky. Several of his children moved to Hamilton County, IL with the Maulding family.
