In Memoriam April 28th


1867 Warren Colclasure was the son of John & Rachel (Galbraith) Colclasure.  He was born in Clay Co. IL in 1832 and died there at age 35.  He married Sarah Spiker and they had six children, Marion, Jefferson, Angeline, John, Frances & Harriet. 

1873 Derritt Fitzgerald the son of James & Jane (Bruce) Fitzgerald in Clay Co. IL age about 71.  He was born in Kentucky ca. 1801.  Derritt married 1) Susannah Ferguson in Indiana in 1818 and they had three children: John, James and Johnson.  He married 2) Mary Slaven in 1826 in Indiana and they had seven children: Permelia, Cynthia, Eliza, John, William, America and Thomas.  The Fitzgeralds moved to Clay Co., IL ca. 1840.  He died two days after his wife Mary Slaven’s death and is buried in Hoosier Prairie Cemetery.  See also Derritt & Mary Fitzgerald’s Estate

1905 Amanda (Smith) Tolliver age 39, the daughter of William & Clarinda (Benefield) Smith was born in Clay Co. IL in 1865.  She married William Tolliver and they had six children: Robert, Charles, Otis, Lewis, Delbert and Luther.

1977 Albertdina (Miller) Smith age 89, she was born in 1887.  She married Stanley Smith in 1910 and they had two children: Raymond and Lucille.  She is buried in Marine Cemetery in St. Jacob, IL.

1994  Mrs. Edith M. (Granny) Colclasure, 82 of Plainfield, Ill., died Thursday Apr. 28, 1994 at St. Joseph medical Center in Joliet.
She was a Fairfield native and mother of Ronald Harris of Fairfield.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon (today) from the Overman-Jones Funeral Home in Plainfield, with Rev. Michael Nolan officiating.  Interment was in the Plainfield Township Cemetery.
She was married to Vernie Colclasure.
Mrs. Colclasure was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Plainfield. 
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents and one brother.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald Harris of Fairfield; and Ray and Raymond Colclasure, both of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
