In Memoriam April 21st


1969 Jennie (Robertson) Johnson in Illinois the daughter of James & Mary (Maulding) Robertson was 82 years old.  She married Lee Johnson ca. 1907 and they had one son, Arthur.  Jennie is buried in Salem / Mateer Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.


1992 Mrs. Albert (Agnes) Crumbacher, 73, of 1001 Epworth died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 21, 1992, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. 
Mrs. Crumbacher entered the hospital Monday but had been hospitalized a number of times during a period of declining health.
She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating.  Interment will be in Thomason cemetery at Wayne City.  Visitation will be 6 to 9 Friday evening at the Johnson Chapel.
She was born in Wayne County Mar. 4, 1919, the daughter of Alonzo and Mae Bailey Withrow.
In 1936 she was married to Albert Crumbacher.
Mrs. Crumbacher was a member of the Pin Oak Missionary Baptist Church at Keenes.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Allan of DeKalb; and George of Denison, Tex.; six daughters, Shirley McKibben and Judy Scarbrough, both of Fairfield; Joyce Flack of Houston, Tex.; Louise Schick of Rochelle; Kay Barrett of Rochelle; and Fay Johnson of Louisiana; three sisters, Cleo Monroe, Fairfield; Drucilla Bozarth of Keenes; and Mildred Robinett of Sterling; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
1998 Mrs. Nova L. Payne, 85, of Wayne City, died at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 21, 1998 at Mt. Vernon Care Center.
Mrs. Payne was a homemaker and private baby-sitter.
Funeral rites were held Thursday afternoon (today) from the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with Rev. Jesse Allen officiating.  Interment was in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City.  A visitation was held at the funeral home two hours before the 1 p.m. funeral.
She was born in Wayne County June 3, 1912 the daughter of John A. and Rose Moore Robertosn.
She was married in Wayne County to Perry A. Payne.
Mrs. Payne was a member of the Salem Free Will Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; one son; three brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are a sister, Fern Hunt of Fostoria, Ohio; grandchildren Donna Mitchell of Wayne City and Gary Payne of Mt. Vernon; two great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Betty Payne of Wayne City; and several nieces and nephews.
