This Court Grants unto the widow Charity Lothrop of Norwich full power of administration of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, Credit and Estate of Mr. Ezra Lothrop, Late of Said Norwich, Deceased and the said Charity Lothrop appeared in Court and gave Bond and made oath to exhibit an Inventory accordingly.
An Inventory of the Late Mr. Ezra Lothrop Late of Norwich was Exhibited in the aforesd. Court which is approved and ordered to be Recorded.

Real Estate. So that the sum of ye Debt, Charge &c. Surmount the sum of ye Personall Estate of £460..5..1 3/4
Upon a motion made to this Court by Mrs. Charity Lothrop of Norwich widow and Relict to Mr. Ezra Lothrop Late of NewEnt in sd Norwich Deceased, This Court appoints Jacob Perkins Esqr, Mr. Robert Kinsman Junr. & Mr. Elisha Lothrop all of Said Norwich, freeholders to Divide out and set off to the said Widow one Third part of the Real Estate that her said husband Ezra Lothrop, Dec'd. Seized & Possessed of to be for her use and improvement during her natural life and Describe the Same by Proper meets and Bounds, and make Return to this Court, They to be first Swornt to said Service.

Charity Lothrop of Norwich Administratrix on the Estate of Ezra Lothrop late of Norwich Dec'd Exhibited a further account of Charges of administration and of Debts due from the Estate amounting to the sum of £198:15:1 Lawful money which is allowed and ordered to be kept on file.

Jedediah Lothrop a minor of the Town of Norwich, son of Ezra Lothrop of Norwich Dec'd aged more than 14 years came into Court and made Choice of his Uncle Elisha Lothrop of Said Norwich to be his Guardian which Choice is allowed and the Said Elisha Lothrop appeared in Court accepted the trust and gave bond for a faithfull Discharge of his aforesaid office and trust.
Whereas Charity Lothrop Administratrix on the Estate of Mr. Ezra Lothrop Dec'd obtained Liberty from the General Assembly to sell so much of the Real Estate of the Said Dec'd as will Raise the sum of £460:5:1 3/4 Lawfull money and the Incident Charges arrising on such sale taking the Direction of this Court therein you the said Charity Lothrop are hereby Directed to make sale of the Real Estate above Directed to be Sold either by Private Sale or at Publick Vendue as you Shall Judge most for the advantage of the Estate. And in Case you shall find it best to Sell at Publick vendue you must give Publick Notice of the time & place of Such Sale by written advertisements thereof Set up on the Signe postes of the Several Societys in the Town of Norwich and on the Signe Posts in the Towns of Preston, Plainfield & Canterbury at Least fourteen days before the Day of such sale.
1762, June 7 - At a Court of Probate held in Norwich in the District of Norwich the 7th Day of June 1762
Present Hez. Huntington Esqr Judge and Isaac Huntington Clerk holding [said Court]
Mrs. Charity Lothrop of Norwich Administratrix on ye Estate of Ezra Lothrop Late of Said Norwich Dec'd. Represents to this Court that sd Condition and Surcumstances of the Estate of Said Ezra Lothrop Dec'd are such that the same is Insolvent or Insufficient to pay all the Just Debts which the said Dec'd owed and moves that Commissioners may be appointed to Receive and examine all the Claims of the Several Creditors and how they are made out and Evidenced. Whereupon this Court appoints Jacob Perkins and Simon Tracy Junr. Esqrs and Capt. Richard Hide all of said Norwich to be Commissioners with full Power to Receive and Examine all the Claims of the Several Creditors to said Estate and how they are made out & Evidence and six months from this time are allowed for the Creditors to bring in their claims and prove their Debts and said Commissioners are to attend the direction of ye law therein at the End of which time Limited Said Commissioners shall make their Report and Present a List of all the Claims unto the said Judge.
1763, April 5 - At a Court of Probate in the District of Norwich in New London County the 5th Day of April 1763:
Present Hezekiah Huntington Esqr Judge holding said CourtDr. Daniel Lothrop was Ezra's first cousin, the son of his uncle Thomas.
The Commissioners appointed to Receive and Examine the Claims of the Creditors of the Estate of Ezra Lothrop Late of Norwich Dec'd. made their Report to this Court and it appearing that the said Estate is Insolvent, Thereupon this Court Orders and appoints administration.

The Commissioners appointed to Receive and Examine the clames of the Creditors of the Estate of Ezra Lothrop Late of Norwich Deceased having made their Report to this Court and it appearing that said Estate is Insolvent. This Court Orders and appoints Docr. Daniel Lothrop of said Norwich To sell all the Estate of the said Ezra Lothrop Dec'd. both Real and Personal Except what has been set off to the widow of sd. Dec'd. first advertising the Time and place of sale in two of the New London Summary and also by Setting up Notifications in Writing in five different Public Places in the Town of Norwich. And also in one in the Town of Canterbury & in one in Preston & in one in the Town of Windham expressing the Time and Place of Salle at Least twenty days before said sale and then to proceed to sell said estate at Publick vendue at ye Beat of Drum to the Highest bidder and to Execute Proper Conveyances thereof according to Law and Render an account of the amount thereof to the Judge of this Court
