1810, Sept. 19 - North Carolina, Stokes Co., Will:
I Robert Beazley of the County of Stokes and state of North Carolina, being weak in body, but sound in mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in form & substance as follows, to wit: -- and first I assign my spirit into the hands of the author of my existence to do with it as to him that seems best.
Secondly my desire is that my executors shall see that my body is buried in a decent and Christian like manner, and thirdly as to my worldly estate which it has pleased God to help me with – I do hereby will and bequeath to my beloved wife Caty Beazley the whole of my estate (without demanding to particulars) during her widowhood and after her death to be equally divided among my children – but in case of her second marriage my desires that my estate shall then be divided in the like manner as the law directs in case of intestate estates.
My wife is at liberty if she thinks proper to give to my two eldest sons, James & Isham Beazley whenever they shall come of age each a horse be it proved they shall live with her until such time.
And lastly my will and desire is that my brother Benjamin Beazley & James Cook be executors and my wife Executrix to this my last will and testament to see the same executed according to the true intent and meaning thereof given under my hand the 19th day of Sept. in the year of our Lord, 1810.
