Occupation: farmer
Census:
1800 North Carolina - Stokes Co., age 8, living with parents and four brothers
1810 North Carolina - Stokes Co., a Robert Beasley living there. The census is not the usual accounting of males and females. There is 1 male over 21 and an accounting of goods. Robert wrote his will and probably died by the end of the year. The census is not dated.
1820 North Carolina - Stokes Co., between 16 and 26, living with Judith and four children. He is engaged in agriculture.
1830 North Carolina - Stokes Co., age between 40 and 49, living with Judith and nine children.
1840 Kentucky - Pulaski Co., age between 40 and 50, living with Judith and six children.
1850 Kentucky - Pulaski Co., Isham's family is listed twice on the census:
Family #67 Isam Baley age 56, farmer, wife Inda age 55, son Edmond age 14, grandson William Dove age 10
Family #957 Isham Beasley, 56, farmer, Judah 57, illiterate, Edmond 17, William [Dove] 13, Katherine 6/121860 Kentucky - Pulaski Co., age 66 Isham is a farmer with real estate valued at $300 and personal property worth $100. His wife is listed as Julia and there are no children living in the house.
1870 Kentucky - Pulaski Co., Isham is listed in the mortality census as male, white, born ca. 1792 in North Carolina age 78, died Jan. 1870 of dropsy.
Probate: Isham did not leave a will, but his estate was adjudicated by the Pulaski County Commissioners in September 1875. His property was sold in December 1875 for $20 and his son James bought it. A deed was executed April 7, 1896 "between the children and heirs at law of Isham Beazly, dec'd. by T.Z. Morrow, Jr. Commissioner of said Court of the first part and James Beazly, of the second part" for 100 acres in Pulaski Co., KY.
It appears that there was some issue in recording the original deed which was executed in March 1869 selling the property to James. In that deed John & Katie (Beasley) Stroxdale, Edmund Beasley, Edward & Rachel (Beasley) Stroxdale, John & Patty (Beasley) Sneed and the only heirs at law of Isam Beasley, dec'd. It appears to be a pocket deed that James did not record right away. In the intervening time there may have developed some dispute amongst the family which caused the county commissioners to intervene.
