In Memoriam May 7th

1913 Cloyd Maulding age 69 the son of Andrew & Hester (Hopkins) Maulding in Wayne Co., IL.  Cloyd was born in 1843 and married Elizabeth Schell.  They had four children: Elvia, Ella, Charles and infant son.  Cloyd served in Co. D of the 40th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War.
1996 Mrs. Audrey Lathrop Kercher, 59, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996 in Marietta, Ga.
A native of Wayne City, Mrs. Kercher had battled cancer for over three years.
She earned a bachelors degree in business education from Southern Illinois University in 1959 and taught a number of years in northern Illinois high schools.  In 1961 she was married to Dean S. Kercher.  She spent several years as an executive secretary and later she and her husband operated the Kercher Manufacturing Company, continuing with this effort until she became critically ill.
She was born at Wayne City, Nov. 27, 1936, the daughter of Forest and Mildred Lathrop.
Mrs. Kercher spent her early childhood in Wayne City, attending grade school and high school there.  She was active in the Methodist Church MYF and remained a member of Wayne City First United Methodist Church and frequently contributed to the Mt. Zion United Methodist at Wayne City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The remains were cremated in Marietta, Ga. and a memorial service was held at the Peachtree United Methodist Church in Atlanta Saturday, May 11.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Jeffrey S. Kercher, with IBM and Dan S. and James S. Kercher both Georgia Tech students in Atlanta, Ga.; five brothers and sisters Phyllis Seevers, of Bridgeton, Mo.; Albert Lathrop of Yorkville; Irene Baker of Tallahassee, Fla.; John Lathrop of St. Louis, Mo.; and Grant Lathrop of East Peoria.
