In Memoriam - December 13th



1891 Martha (Edwards) Fitzgerald the wife of Stewart Fitzgerald age 50.  Martha & Stewart had six children: Mary, James, Betsy, Charles, Anna and Guy.  She is buried in Clay City, IL.



1971 Norva Bryan age 84 in Clay Co., IL the son of Wesley & Catherine (Smith) Bryan.  He was born in Clay Co., IL in 1887.  Norva married Anna Coburn and they had a
daughter Mary.



1980 Hobart Robertson the son of David & Dora (McCawley) Robertson age 80.  He was born in 1900 and married Dollie Cook.  Hobart is buried in Pin Oak Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.



1998 Hallie Florence Johnson, 86, of Belle Rive died 3:07 a.m. Dec. 13, 1998, at her home in Belle Rive.

She was a homemaker.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard McCormick officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Rive-Flint Cemetery, Belle Rive.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Hughey Funeral Home when the body will be moved to the curch to lie in state from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Hallie Florence Johnson was born in Hamilton County, Aug. 15, 1912, a daughter of Marhsall and Anna Allen Harper.  She professed her faith in Christ at the age of 16 and joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church.  The Rev. Bird Green united she and John Arthur Johnson of Belle Rive in marriage at the East Side Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Jan. 16, 1938.  They were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Darlene Sue and Dorothy Ann.
She joined the Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church and was an active member until failing health.  She served as president of the Womans Missionary Union for 20 years.
Surviving is her husband, John Arthur Johnson; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Darlene Sue) Wind of Normal and Mrs. Dennis (Dorothy Ann) Hamson of Belle Rive; two granddaughters, Mrs. Brad (Cheryl) Wollrab of Bloomington and Mrs. Danny (Carol) Deavers of Normal; two step-granddaughters, Kendra Coleman of Bloomington and Karen Shumacker of Washington; two great-grandsons, Jesse and Justin Deavers of Normal; three step-great-grandchildren, Ashley Coleman of Bloomington and Dustin and Vance Shumacker of Washington; and one brother, Evan Harper of McLeansboro.
Mrs. Johnson was also the aunt of one niece, Verla Standerfer Wallace, and two nephews, Stanley Harper and John Paul Barr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Anna Harper; two sisters, Mable Harper Barr and Hazel Harper Standerfer; and two brothers, Howard and Alva Harper.
