1913 Maynard Butler son of
Geo. F. and Florence D. Butler, was born in Wayne county, Illinois, Oct. 29,
1891; departed this life Nov. 3rd, 1913. Age 22 years and 5 days.
Maynard was a good boy, kind and loving to his parents, brother, sister, and in fact to everyone. He was cut down in Youth’s Bright Morn, but “God’s will be done, not ours.” He leaves a father, mother, one brother, one sister and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
He was one of Wayne county’s young and successful teachers, having received his education in this county and at the State Normal at Normal, Ill. Rev. W.C. Cissna conducted the funeral service, Tuesday at Mount Olive church and the body was laid to rest in the Mount Olive cemetery.
Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep.
Where none shall ever wake to weep.
Maynard attended Illinois State University and became a teacher. He died of an appendicitis because he refused to have surgery.

Powell, 83, died Friday night at his home, 1214 East Main Street after a short
illnes..
He was born in Amity neighborhood and spent his entire life there and in Olney.
Surviving are his wife, Mattie; one son, Eugene Powell of Chicago, and two daughters Mrs. Mildred Black of Claremont, and Miss Mary Powell, R.N. of Olney.
Funeral services were held Monday at Amity church with Rev. Clyde Erwin officiating. Interment was in Amity cemetery.

1969 John Crumbacher age 90 the son of James & Nancy (Gentle) Crumbacher in Illinois. He was born in Illinois in 1879. John married Ruth Swan and they had three children: Grace, Albert and Nova.

Dove the daughter of Cal & Goldie (Oler) Payne age 55. She was born in
Wayne Co., IL in 1919. Doris married 1)
Arvil Shaw and 2) Kenneth Dove. She was
the mother of Louise Shaw, Larry Shaw and Robert Dove. Doris is buried in Salem / Mateer Cemetery in
Wayne Co., IL.
