In Memoriam - November 28th


1876 Leonard Gurley the five year old son of Leonard & Susanna (Morehead) Gurley in Wayne Co., IL.  He is buried in Bailey Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.

1910 Mary (Maulding) Robertson in Wayne Co., IL age 63.  She was born in Hamilton Co., IL  in 1847 the daughter of Andrew & Hester (Hopkins) Maulding.  Mary married James Robertson in Middleton, IL in 1868, her father Andrew officiated.  She was the mother of seven children:  Idella, Laura, James, Hannah, John, Anna and Jennie.  She is buried in Salem / Mateer Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.

1934 Orval Bond the seven month old son of Henry & Lula (Robertson) Bond. 

1945 Edward Crumbacher age 79 in Jefferson Co., IL.  He was born in 1866 in Wayne Co., IL the son of James & Nancy (Gentle) Crumbacher.  Edward married Elizabeth Simmons.  He is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.



1997 Mrs. Laura A. Murray, 90 of Fairfield died at 3:05 p.m. Friday Nov. 28, 1997, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
She was a housewife.  Mrs. Murray had been in declining health the past year.
Funeral rites were held Sunday afternoon from Nale’s Funeral Home here, with Rev. Ron Newton officiating.  Interment was in Koontz Cemetery.  Visitation was held at the funeral home from 12 noon Sunday to the funeral hour.
She was born in Clay County Nov. 2, 1907 the daughter of Clarence and Mary Fitzgerald Colclasure.
She was married to Harry Johnson Mar. 26, 1927.  He died in 1968.  Later, on Apr. 2, 1972 she was married to Henry Murray, who died in 1974.
Mrs. Murray was a member of the First Church of God.
Preceding her in death were her two husbands, her parents, one daughter, one son, four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Whitlow of Fairfield; one son, Guy Johnson of Fairfield; one sister Dolores Burton of Coal City; one brother Dale Colclasure of Burnt Prairie; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.

2012  Genevieve Bertha "Jana" (Robertson) Mohorovich, 93, died November 28, 2012 at Lake Havasu City, Ariz., near her family.
By her request, following her cremation, she wil be interred at Pin Oak Cemetery, north of Sims, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
She was born in Sims to Leonard and Jennie (Beattie) Robertson and was married to Victor Mohorovich. 
Survivors include her half-sister Minnie Mae Barron; step-children Shirley Lucas, Rob and John Mohorovich.  Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother Laland; half-brothers, Paul, John and Leroy Robertson; sisters Hilma Harris, Vera Baker, two nephews and one-step-daughter.
2013 Dannie Wayne McKinney, 65, of New Haven and formerly of Wayne City, died 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at his home in New Haven.
He was born Jan. 21, 1948 in Wayne County, the son of Robert “Bob” and Betty Bruce McKinney.  He married Pamela Mills and she survives.
He worked for the state of Illinois Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Robert “Bob” McKinney of Bluford; sons Kelby (wife Gara) McKinney of Wayne City and Canaan McKinney of Fairfield; daughter, Tonia (husband John) White of Bluford; four stepdaughters, Kynda Pottorf of Evansville, Ind., Donna LaFramboise of Carterville, Keirah McWilliams of Fairfield and Danah Radke of Maryland; sibling, Kelly (wife Carla) McKinney of Wayne City; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Union Ridge Church near New Haven with the Rev. Ivan Kunce officiating.  Interment will be at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.
