In Memoriam - September 8th

1842 Sarah (Clark) Miller in Scotch Plains, NJ age 65.  The daughter of James & Esther (Marsh) Clark, she was born in 1777 and married 1) ? Willis and 2) William Miller.  Sarah had at least two children: John & Samuel Miller.  She is buried at the Baptist Church in Scotch Plains, NJ.

1872 Russell Lathrop in Richland Co., IL age 79.  He was born in Franklin Co., VT in 1793 the son of Elkanah Lathrop.  Russell served 1 month and 17 days in the War of 1812.  He married Cynthia Powell in 1815 and they had eleven children: Henry, Levi, Samantha, Hazen, Erastus, Lucy, Marvin, Clarinda, Mary , Martha, and  Ezra.  Russell moved his family to Indiana in 1837 to take advantage of a land bounty for his War of 1812 service.  The family moved to Lawrence Co., IL in 1841. Russell is buried in Prairieton Lone Tree Cemetery in Lawrence Co., IL.


1900 Guy L. Crumbacher, 90, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Saturday, Sept. 8, 1990, at the Christian Care Nursing Home in that city.
He was a native of Wayne County.
Graveside services were held Tuesday morning at Mayfield cemetery at Sycamore, with Rev. Jeanne Vetere officiating.
He was a farmer for over 50 years and a member of the Mayfield Congregational Church at Sycamore.
Mr. Crumbacher was born in Wayne County May 14, 1900, the son of Albert and Ollie Trotter Crumbacher. 
On Dec. 4, 1923, in Tennessee, he was married to Thelma Knicely.  She passed away in September of 1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and two sisters.  Memorials may be made to the Christian Care Nursing Home in Phoenix.
Surviving are one son, C.L. Crumbacher of DeKalb; one daughter Edna Parnell of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother Fred Crumbacher, Olney; one sister Mabel Schiele, Aurora; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
