in Halifax, England son of Richard Denton.
Samuel immigrated to America ca. 1650.
He married Mary Rock Smith in Hempstead, NY 1656. She was born 1640 in
Dorchester, MA the daughter of John Rock & Elizabeth (Gildersleeve)
Smith. They had at least one son. Samuel and Mary died within five days of each
other in 1713 in Hempstead. The Rock
Smith family used the name to distinguish themselves from several other Smith
families of the Long Island area.

daughter of James & Bessie (Nemnich) Smith.
She married a Hartman and died in 1988.

Matthew was born 1601 in England and sailed on the Mary & John to
Plymouth, MA in 1630. He moved from
Dorchester, MA to Windsor, CT in 1635 where he worked as a surveyor and
recorder of deeds. Susanna born 1602 in
England the daughter of Bernard & Joan (Purchase) Capen married 1) William
Rockwell in 1624. They also came across
on the Mary & John and moved from Dorchester, MA to Windsor in 1637. William Rockwell died in 1640. Matthew Grant died 1681 in Windsor and
Susanna died ca. 1665. She and Matthew
did not have any children.
1689 Nicholas
Rittenhouse & Wilhelmina Dewees in New York. Nicholas born 1666 was the son of William
Rittenhouse. Wilhelmina the daughter of
Garrett & Zytian (Lieuwes) Dewees was born ca. 1665 in Leeuwarden,
Netherlands. Nicholas died in 1734 and
Wilhelmina after 1737.

Russell is the son of Harold & Alene (Winesburgh) Robertson.
