1763 - June 18 - Talbot County, MD - will of Peter Hunt:

In the Name of God Amen. This the Eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord 1763.  I, Peter Hunt of Talbot County am very sick and weak in Body but of Perfect memory thanks be to God, therefore Knowing it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament that is to say first I Recommend my body to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors and as for my worldly Estate I dispose of it in the following manner.

Item . . . I Give to my Loving Wife Hunt all my Lands and Livings during her Natural Life and after her Decease as follows

Item . . . I Give to my well beloved Son Peter Hunt that Seat of Land he now Lives Called and Known Penmoth St. Andrews to him and his Heirs forever. 

Item . . . I Give to my well Beloved son John Hunt the Plantation I now Live on called and known by the Name of Larramores Addition to him & his Heirs for Ever.

Item . . . I Give to my well Beloved Daughter Mary Ball one Negro woman Named Tenny and if she dies without Issue to be returned to my Son Peter Hunt.

Item . . . I Give to my Loving daughter Frances Hunt one Negro man named Wall to her and her Heirs forever if she dies without Issue my son John Hunt

Item . . . I Give to my grandson John Haddaway one young horse and my moveable Estate moreover it is my desire my Son Peer Hunt shall have that Seat of Land in Long Point named Hunt Keepout.

Item . . . It is my will and desire if either of my Daughters Mary or Frances Dies without Issue that the Negroes mentioned Shall be divided amongst the Rest of my children moreover it is my desire that all my children shall have a Rite to a Pew I have in the Church not to be molested by one of other the rest of my Estate to be equally divided amongst my children after my Wife decease I do ordain my wife should be sole Executrix of This my last will and Testament utterly disallowing any former will by me made I do by these Presents made acknowledge this to be my last will and Testament in Witness I have hereunto put my Hand and Seal the day and year above written.

Talbot County Sct: The 10th September 1766 Alice Dawson and Sophia Porter Two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing will being duly and solemnly sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God do depose and say that they saw the Testator Peter Hunt sign the same will and heard him Publish and Declare it to be his last will and Testament in the Presence and hearing of Lawrence Peter the other subscribing Witness thereto That at the Time of his so doing he was to the best of the aprehension of these Deponents of sound and disposing mind and memory and
