Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Powell of Lebanon
Together with my sureties Joseph Truman and Joshua Hempwood of N. London Doe acknowledge ourselves joyntly and Severally to owe and ---- Justly Indebted into the Court of Probate in the COunty of New London the full and just sum of three hundred pounds current mony of New England to be payd to the P. Court of Probate upon all Demands by us our heirs executors and administrators. In witness whereof we have hereunto sett our hands and seals in New London this eighth day of July anno Domini 1712.
The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden Elizabeth Powell administratrix of all and singular the Goods, Chattells and credits of Rowland Powell deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and signular the goods chattells and credits of the sd. deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, posession or knowledge of the said administratrix or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited into ye Registry of the Court of Probate in New London County at or before the second Monday of August next ensueing and the same goods chattels and credits and all other the goods Chattels and Credits of ye sd deceased at the time of his death, which at any time after shall come into the hands or possession of the said administratrix or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her do well and truley administor according to law and further do make or cause to be made a true and just account of her said administration at or before the second Tuesday of July next ensueing and all the rest and residue upon ye sd Administrators acct the same being first examined & allowed in the P. Court of Probate, shall Deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as the P. Court of Probate by their Decree or Sentence pursuent to the true intent and meaning of the law, shall limitt and appoint and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the P Deceased and the Executor or Executors therein named do exhibit the same into the said court making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the administratrix within bounden (being thereunto required) doe render and deliver the said letters of administration approbation of such testament being first said and made in the said court then this obligation to be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and vertue.

1719 - June 13 - New London Co., CT - Distribution of Rowland Powell's estate:
We whose names are hereunto subscribed being appointed and sworn to make a distribution of the Estate of Rowland Powel Late of Lebanon in ye county of N. London deceased to the Legatees of sd estate according to the order of the court of probate and in order thereunto we have proceed as followeth (viz) to the widow she hath received eighteen pounds thirteen shillings and nine pence of ye movables as appears from under her own hand & as to her third of ye Real estate she hath taken bond of her son Rowland Powell.
2ly Rowland Powell ye eldest son hath received the sum of thirty nine pounds & three shillings & ten pence.
3ly the second son Stephen Powell hath received nineteen pounds, nineteen shillings as appears by a receipt under his own hand ------ date February the 20th 1718
4ly Joseph Fowler hath received of ye estate of Rowland Powell Deceased the sum of nineteen pounds, nineteen shillings upon the account of his wife Elizabeth Powell the eldest daugther of ye sd Rowland Powell deceased as appears by receipt from under his own hand.
5ly Stephen Tilden junr hath Received upon the account of his wife Mary the second daughter of ye abovesd Rowland Powell deceased the sum of sixteen pounds, five shillings & six pence of his wive's portion as appear ---- from under his own hand by Receipt that he hath given show still remains three pounds, five shillings & five pence, ----- secured to by paid from under the hand & seal of Rowland Powell the eldest son of ye Deceased to be payd according to the order of Court within one year.
6ly as for the two children underaged the widow ---- Guardian of them the widow hath received as appears from under her own hand the sum of three pounds, eleven shillings the remainder --- thirty five pounds, twelve shillings & ten pence, Rowland Powell the eldest son hath given bond ofr the payment ---- of according to order of court
We have also according to the order of Court made a just apprizement of ye homestead according to our best judgment & we have apprized the house & homestead at one hundred & fifty pounds.

Capt. William Clarke appeared before me the 16th of June 1719 & made oath that he had acted in the division of the estate of Rowland Powell & apprissement of the homestead according to the best of his skill & understanding.
