1764 - August 9 - Caroline Co., VA - Andrew Anderson vs. Richard Beasley for trespass, Richard confessed and paid 3 pounds, 19 shillings, 93 farthings.

1765 - Lower Drysdale Parish, Caroline Co., VA - Richard worked road construction

1780 - January 1 - Surry Co., NC - Richard was mentioned in Robert Cook's will, his father-in-law. 

1781 - April 29 - Caroline Co., VA - A payroll of Capt. Edmund Jones' Company of militia joined . . . under the command of Col. Thomas Mathews includes Rich'd. Beazley, 48 days

1781 - October - King & Queen Co., VA - Richard provided the Continental army with 250 pounds of beef which was received by Commander Robert Hill for £3.2.6.  

ca. 1784 - King & Queen Co., VA - Richard Beasley assessed for taxes

1784 - Virginia - a Richard Beasley was eligible for land warrant for 3 years service in the state line as a private

1785 - the family moved to Surry County, North Carolina, where Richard was assessed for taxes

1786 - Surry Co., NC - Richard assessed for taxes

1787 - August - Surry Co., NC - Enoch Conley sold 184 acres on Baker's Branch of the Dan River to Richard Beasley

1789 - Stokes County created out of Surry County

1792 - Stokes Co., NC -  Jonathan Harrison to Richard Beasley, 100 acres on Marshal's Creek a branch of Big River for £60.

1793 - March 8 - Stokes, Co., NC - Ordered that Richard Beasley be appointed to a jury to view and lay out a road beginning at the County line leading from Patrick Courthouse Road the most direct way toward Haynes Iron Works. 

1793 - May 31 - Stokes Co., NC - Richard Beasley received a 10 acres land grant on Marshal's Creek which bordered his own line on the east and includes his improvement. 

1794 - June 6 - Stokes Co., NC - Ordered that Richard Beasley (among others) be appointed to a jury to view the land of certain entries made by Peter Beller No. 308 containing 3,000 acres and make report to next court whether they consider the same fit for cultivation as that it may be appropriate to the use of iron works.

1800 - Stokes Co., NC census - a Richard Beasley family consisting of 1 male under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 45+, 1 female 10-16 and 1 female 45+.  Probably Richard and Martha living with grandchildren. 

1800 - Stokes Co., NC - Richard wrote his will:
The name of God amen, I Richard Beasley of Stokes County and state of North Carolina.  Planter being in common health and of perfect mind and memory . . . unto God for the same and calling into mind the mortality of man and knowing that it is appointed for all men to dye do make and ordain . . . last will and testament of that is today I principally and first of all . . . Recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it . . . I recommend to the earth to be buried and done in a Christian manner . . . of my executors nothing doubting but of the resurrection I may receive . . . knowing reward from God and as touching such world by estate whereas . . . pleased God to bless me with in this life I give _______ dispose of the  . . . following manner and form:
. . . my will is I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Martha a . . . and temporal support that she may require or wont in this life to . . . out of my estate in full in payment of the same during her life, and bequeath unto my beloved son Jeremiah Beasley all my land . . . live and all plantation _______ and stock of horses, cattle, hogs, sheep . . . household goods of all kinds and all tools and all my whole estate . . . hereafter excepted to my other children that I have portioned of before . . . then my will is that my wife and son Jeremiah would not divide to . . .
