Married: Mary Porter May 20, 1819 in Muskingum Co., OH, she may have been his second wife.

Occupation: probably a farmer

Military:  a Jacob Edwards served as a private in Capt. Stephens Ohio Militia during the War of 1812.  Is this the same person?

Census / Records:
1790- Maryland, Anne Arundel Co. Jacob would have been new born or not yet born for this census.  I found two possibilities even though the census is torn in places and difficult to read in others

Cadwalader Edwards family is listed in the census with 3 males -16, 1 male 16+, 2 females and 4 slaves. 

William Edwards family 1 male 16+, 2 females, 4 slaves.

1800 - Maryland, Anne Arundel Co. Jacob would have been ten.

Cadwalader Edwards family listed again with 2 males under 10, 3 males 10-15, 1 male 26-44, 4 females under 10, 1 female 26-44, 3 other free people and 1 slave. 

William Edwards is not listed in the Anne Arundel Co.

1810 - Maryland, Anne Arundel Co. Jacob would have been twenty.

Cato Edwards living in Anne Arundel with 11 people in the household.

1820 - not found on census, but there is a deed:

Oct. 26 Jacob & Mary Edwards of Muskingum Twp., Muskingum Co., OH sold 25 acres of the East half of lot no. 37 on the quarter T2, R8 to James Blunt.  This is land that Mary inherited from her father.  Her brother Henry witnessed this deed.

1830 Ohio - Muskingum Co. - age 40 living with Mary, seven children and a woman age 50-59.

1840 Ohio - Muskingum Co. - age 50 living with Mary and nine children, 3 people are engaged in agriculture

1842-1845 - Bartholomew Co. IN - a Jacob Edwards in Clifty Twp. paying taxes on 160 acres, 1 poll and personal property

1843 - Bartholomew Co. IN - a Jacob Edwards in Flat Rock Twp. paying taxes on 1 poll 

1850 Indiana - Bartholomew Co. - there is a Jacob Edwards age 49 born in KY living in Bartholomew Co., IN with Albinah age 42, John age 14 and a Lucinda Parks 14.  The age is off by 10 years which sometimes happens.  He says he was born in Kentucky which is troubling.  The Parks child indicates a possible connection with Jacob's son Solomon as he married Mary Ellen Parks.
