daughter of John & Elizabeth (Cornwell) Wolfe in Virginia. She died in 1885 in Wayne Co. IL
1855 Mary Gurley in
Wayne Co. IL the daughter of Leonard & Nancy (Warren) Gurley. She died in 1931 and is buried in Elmwood
Cemetery in Flora, IL.
1943 Gaynell Oliver
in East Chicago, IN the daughter of Samuel & Stella (Sapyta) Oliver. She died in Decatur, IL in 1995.

1869 William Dove
& Nancy Hunt in Brown Co., IN.
William born 1838 in Casey Co. KY was the son of John & Jane/Nancy?
(Beasley) Dove. He was living with his
grandfather Isham Beasley in Pulaski Co. KY in 1850, although his father John
was still living. John married 1) Martha
Rainwater in Pulaski Co. KY 1856. They
had four children. William enlisted in
Company D, 3rd Kentucky Infantry.
He deserted and helped the Rainwater family move to Brown County, IN to
wait out the war. Once the family was
settled and safe he moved up to Minnesota where he reenlisted in Co. D, 1st
Minnesota Heavy Artillery. His
enlistment papers describe him as having blue eyes, fair hair, light complexion
and being five feet six inches tall. The
1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery was dispatched to Chattanooga, TN
where they operated an artillery battery on the top of Lookout Mountain. After the war
William returned to Brown Co. IN where Martha died in 1865.
Nancy Hunt born 1849
in Indiana was the daughter of John & Jaily (Hunt) Hunt. She took on William’s four children ages 4 to
12 and helped him move the family to Wayne Co. IL along with William’s
Rainwater in-laws. William’s father John
was also living in Wayne County in 1860.
Nancy had six children of her own.
William & Nancy owned a farm along the Wayne / Jefferson County
border not far from Salem Church. In the
1870 census John Dove was living with the family. Nancy died ca. 1890. She is probably buried in an unmarked grave
in Salem / Mateer Cemetery.
William married third 1891 in Fairfield, IL Alice Goss the daughter of George
& Hester (Rohosbach) Goss was born 1854 in Richland Co., IL. She was the widow of Isaac Jones and had a
small daughter when she and William married.
William and Alice had three children.
William died in 1918 and is buried in Salem / Mateer Cemetery. Alice lived in Bluford, IL until her death in
1934.
1922 Tillman Withrow
& Susie Hale. Tillman born 1899 in
Sallisaw, OK was the son of Franklin & Mary (Dove) Withrow and grandson of William Dove above. The couple had eleven children. Tillman died in Norwalk, CA in 1988.
1981 Monte Harris
& Kimberly Fink. Kimberly is the
daughter of Lyman & Sharon (Lathrop) Fink.
They had one child and divorced in 1988.
