1492 – Christopher
Columbus turned up lost in the Bahamas.
In his logbook historians found a notation, “I knew I should’ve taken that left turn at

Birthdays:
1595 Richard Lathrop
son of Thomas & Jane (?) Lathrop was baptized in Etton, Yorkshire,
England. He married Dorothy Lowdon and
had at least three children. He wrote
his will in February 1641 which was admitted to probate in June 1641.
1837 the Colclasure
triplets children of Jacob & Mary (Trinkle) Colclasure in Clay Co., IL,
Nancy, Rachel and unnamed child. Nancy
married John Spiker and had four children.
Rachel married 1) her cousin Andrew Dennen and 2) Joseph Spiker the brother of Nancy’s
husband John. She had eight children
total. It’s not clear if Andrew is the
father of any of her children. Rachel
died in Clay Co., IL In 1911. The third
triplet was living in 1840 according to the census records. This child died before the 1850 census when
Nancy and Rachel are listed as twins.
Mom always marvels about how Mary Trinkle managed a household of nine
children [ages 7 year old twins, 11 year old twins, 13 and 19] with three
babies before modern conveniences and disposable diapers.

1877 Edward Bryan
son of Wesley & Catherine (Smith) Bryan in Clay Co., IL. He died in 1956.
1892 Oliver Osborn
in Wayne Co., IL the son of Milton & Idella (Robertson) Osborn. He died at his home in Sims, IL in 1935 and
is buried in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL.
1908 Dorothy Erkman
daughter of Martin & Mary (Schewberger) Erkman. She married ? Wallace.
Ronnie Kincaid son
of Ronald & Jeannie (Schrum) Kincaid
Marriages:
1817 John Hardin
& Mary Colclasure in Orange Co., IN.
John was born in 1796. Mary was
the daughter of Abraham & Abigail (Dennen) Colclasure born 1798 in Hardin
Co., KY. The couple had 11 children and
eventually moved to Effingham Co. IL
where Mary died in 1871 and John died in 1883. They are buried in Burke Cemetery in Clay
Co., IL.
1970 Mervin Keen
& Stephanie Babiczuk. Mervin born
1947 was the son of Clyde & Dorothy (Shaw) Keen. They have three children. Mervin was a Vietnam veteran. He worked as a truck driver and in oil
fields. Mervin died in Canton, OH in
2010. He is buried in Ten Post Oak
Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.
