1624 – Major William
Bradford in Plymouth, MA the son of Gov. William & Alice (Carpenter)
Bradford. He married 1) Alice Richards
ca. 1652 and they had ten children 2) Mary (Fitch) Wiswall in 1673 and had 1
son and 3) Mary Wood ca. 1676 and they had four children. Alice Richards was born 1627 in England and
died 1671 in Kingston, MA. Mary Fitch
the daughter of Thomas & Anne (Stacey) Fitch was born in 1643 and died
1675. Mary Wood died ca. 1715. William served as representative in
Massachusetts government in 1657, was wounded in the Great Narragansett fight
in 1675 at age 51 and served as deputy governor of Massachusetts from 1682 to
1687. He died in Kingston, MA in 1704
and is buried at Burial Hill, Plymouth, MA.

Here lies the body of ye honorable Major William Bradford, who expired Feb. ye 20th 1703-4, aged 79 years.
He lived long but still was doing good,
And in his countrys service lost much blood;
After a life well spent, he's now at rest,
His very name and memory is blest.
