Obit: Old Resident Gone Daniel Clark of Cox's Landing Breathes His Last
Daniel Clark, a well known citizen & one who was one of the pioneers of the county died at his home just back of Cox's Landing early yesterday morning.
Mr. Clark was 96 years of age & was highly respected.
He has a large number of relatives in this county, some who live in this city. The funeral service was held at 10 o'clock this morning & the remains were interred in the family burying ground Feb. 6, 1896.
He was born in 1800, would be 2 or 3 years older than Rebecca.

Intro: In 1783 North Carolina decided Washington District which extended as the present state of Tennessee to the Mississippi river. A line was surveyed beginning at Wm. Williams' place on Horse Creek to the Mouth of Big Limestone, to Chimney Top Mountain to the mouth of Cloud's Creek on Holston River. All land south of this line was Greene Co., North Carolina.
