Gordon was faith filled and could be found reading and learning from his Bible daily. A true handyman that could fix anything, he was known by his family members as their Mr. Fix-It. Gordon took pride in his gardening.
Gordon was preceded in death by: parents, Minor and Rachel Butler; son, Gary Woods; and brother, Gary Butler.
Gordon is survived by: his loving wife of 35 years, Lola (nee Weld) Butler; children Donnie (Rene) Butler, Robin (Kate) Butler, Mark (Bobbie) Butler, Mark (Debbie) Woods, Karen Butler, Sheri (Rob) Strange; grandchildren, Stanley Michael & family, Donnie (Erin) Butler Jr. & family, Geffery (Aliana) Butler & family, Alissa (Sean) Quinn & family, Quentin (Jennifer) Konie & family, Benjamin (Andrea) Konie & family, Peter Butler, Sarah Bombliss, Matthew Butler, Robin Ashley Butler & family, Andrew Moseley, Jacob Woods, Mathew Woods, Chad (Sarah) Strange & family, Corey Strange, Meagan (John) Levander & family and Miranda Strange; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings Orlena Tindall, Thelma (Larry) Holman, Norma (Jessie) Bowden, Nancy Butler, Charles (Janie) Butler; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday May 31, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tri-County Baptist Church, 8195 Beckett Rd., West Chester, Ohio. Funeral service will be Friday June 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Graveside service will be Monday June 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Dahlgren, Illinois.
