April

Spring is well underway and a young couple are getting married. There are men fishing on the lake in the background.

In our family records for between 1200 and 1600 there are 23 marriages with a firm date.  Of these two were solemnized in April.

  • May - 1
  • June - 3
  • July - 2
  • August - 1
  • September - 4
  • October - 4
  • November - 2
  • December - 0
  • January - 0
  • February - 3
  • March - 1
The majority of couples in this extremely small sample were married in the fall and early winter.  It may be that they waited until after harvest and combined harvest celebrations with weddings when more food would be available for festivities.
