1830 - May 6th - partition of Mary Frances' father's estate, Putnam County, Indiana:
And afterwards to wit at a probate court continued by adjournment and held for the county of Putnam aforesaid at the courthouse aforesaid on Thursday the 6th day of May in the year 1830 comes now John Miller and Willy Miller his wife by George F. Waterman their attorney and file their petition for a division of the real estate of Ezekiel Parish deceased which said petition follows in these words to wit:
State of Indiana, Putnam County
In the Putnam Probate Court May term AD 1830 to the honorable the Judge of the Putnam County Probate Court now in session Humbly complaining your petitioners John Miller and Willey Miller his wife former Willey Parish and daughter of Ezekiel Parish late of said Putnam County deceased would respectfully represent unto your Honor that the said Ezekiel Parish at his decease owned and was possessed of in fee simple two certain half quarter sections of land lying in the county of Putnam aforesaid, to wit
One being the east half of the southeast quarter of Section No. 5 Township No. 14 North of Range 4 West containing eighty acres, the other the west half of the southeast quarter of Section No. 5 Township No. 14 North of Range 4 W. containing eighty acres of land which by the decease of the said Ezekiel Parish who died intestate fell to and now belong to heirs at law to wit:
Cynthia Jarrett, wife of James Jarrett, formerly Cynthia Parish and daughter of the said Ezekiel Parish, deceased, And the said Willey Miller wife of the said John Miller and daughter of the said Ezekiel Parish deceased as aforesaid of full age. And Micajah Parish, Louisa Parish, Elizabeth Parish, Frances Parish, Amos Parish, Howard Parish, Martha Parish and Ezekiel Parish sons and daughters of the said Ezekiel Parish deceased all of whom are now living in the county of Putnam aforesaid. And also Temperance Parish wife of the said Ezekiel Parish deceased who is entitled to her dower out of said lands.
Now therefore your Petitioners humbly pray your honor to appoint commissioners according to the statute in such case made and provided to divide said land and to us all such other things in relation to the same as may be deemed meet and proper. And your Petitioners as in duty bound will every pray etc.

Robert Glidenell (?), John McNary and James Montgomery are hereby appointed to examine the said premises of the said Ezekiel Parish deceased and proceed to apportion off the same.
And afterwards to wit at a probate court continued by adjournment and held for the county aforesaid at the courthouse thereof on the 8th day of July 1830. The commissioners heretofore appointed to lay off and apportion to John Miller and Willey Miller their part of the land of which Ezekiel Parish died siezed returned into Court their report which follows in these words:
May the 14th AD 1830
We the commissioners appointed by the probate court to apportion to John Miller and wife their part of the real estate of Ezekiel Parish deceased together with the part belonging to James Jarrett and wife which is claimed by said Miller by purchase. We the commissioners set out for said Millers two shares in the north east corner of said tract of land to be surveyed off to said Miller as follows to wit:
beginning at the northeast corner and to run south forty-eight poles thence eighty poles west and thence north forty-eight poles thence to the place of beginning (signed)
R. Glidenwell (?), John McNary, James Montgomery, which is received and approved and ordered to be filed in the Clerk's Office.1831 - January 6th Guardianship of Ezekiel Parrish's minor children, Putnam Co., Indiana
And afterwards to wit at a probate court held for the county of Putnam aforesaid at the courthouse aforesaid on the 6th day of January 1831 being the day and year first before written. On motion it is ordered by the court now here that Rees Hardesty, Esq. be and he is hereby appointed Guardian of Micajah Parrish, Louisa Parish, Elizabeth Parish, Frances Parish, Amos Parish, Howard Parish, Martha Parish and Ezekiel Parish infant heirs of Ezekiel Parish deceased he having first filed his bond with approved security conditioned according to law for the faithful performance of his duty as such business and having taken the oath as such Guardian according to law. Come now in open court James Jarrett and John Miller administrators of the estate of Ezekiel Parish deceased with George F. Waterman Esqr. their counsel and on motion prayed a settlement of their administratorship which is granted by the court. And after a complete examination of all the documents touching the same it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that there is a balance of money in the hands of said administrators of one hundred and ninety six dollars which is paid over to Rees Hardesty Guardian of the infant heirs of Ezekiel Parish by order of the Court. The following papers exhibited are inspected and filed to wit, receipts No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 amounting in all to the sum of together with the clerk's fees $109.90 3/4. Temperance Parish widow of the said Ezekiel Parish deceased appeared in open court and claimed the sum of fifty one dollars and thirty nine cents as a full compensation for keeping said infant heirs which is granted by the court. And ordered that Rees Hardesty as such guardian pay the said Temperance the said amount so claimed by her. Come now in open court John Miller and James Jarrett heirs at law of the estate of Ezekiel Parrish deceased and claim their portion of said estate and after all things touching the same being heard it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that the said Jarret and Miller had received a part of said estate to wit, Millre one bed & bedding to the value of ten dollars and one cow worth seven dollars and one dollar in money amounting to eighteen dollars also Jarret the amount of thirty three dollars and seventy five cents in property which is considered and ordered by the court to be a part of their portion of said estate and ordered that they the said Miller & Jarrett receive the residue coming to them which is paid.1840 Parke Co., IN - age 21 with John and three children ages 1 to 3
