Married: James Robert Gurley, December 28, 1892 at Louis Gurley's home in Glenarm, IL

Religious affiliation: member of Wayne City Christian Church

Migration:
Lou may have met J.R. while visiting cousins living in central Illinois.  Her aunt, Fannie who was only four years older had met J.R.'s older brother Louis.  They married in Oldham County, Kentucky.  It is possible that J.R. went with Louis to Kentucky for the wedding or they met at Louis & Fannie's home in Glenarm, IL.

ca. 1898 moved to Wayne Co., IL to farm in Arrington Prairie Twp. north of Wayne City
ca. 1908 moved to farm on the outskirts of Wayne City which is now within the city limits.

1880 Shelby Co., KY - age 14 with her parents and seven younger siblings

1900 Wayne Co., IL - Arrington Prairie living on farm north of Wayne City with J.R. and three children ages 3 to 6.

1910 Wayne Co., IL - Orel Twp. living on farm just west of Wayne City, now within the city limits with J.R., their five children ages 3 to 15 and their nephew James

1920 Wayne Co., IL - Orel Twp. living with J.R. and two youngest kids

1930 Wayne Co., IL - Orel Twp. living with J.R. and grandson Harold Erkman age 13

1940 Wayne Co., IL - Orel Twp. youngest son Lyman is listed as head of household, but J.R. and Lou are living on the home place in Wayne City.  Lou is listed as having an 8th grade education.
