1753 Mary Janes
daughter of Jonathan & Irene (Bradford) Janes. She married Rowland Powell ca. 1773. They had eleven children. Mary died 1813 in Richford, VT. She is buried in Troy Street Cemetery,

1839 James Robertson
in Lawrence Co. OH the son of David & Rebecca (Clark) Robertson. He moved with his family to southern Illinois
ca. 1845. The family was living in Jefferson
County in 1850 and had moved to Macoupin County by 1860.
He served in the Civil War enlisting in Co. D of the 2nd Illinois Calvary at Alton, IL Nov. 14, 1863. He mustered in Dec. 31, 1863 at Camp Butler in Springfield, IL. The casualties were very high and several companies had to be merged. By the end of the war he was serving in Co. C of the 2nd Consolidated Illinois Cavalry. Grandpa was quite proud of his service. In several photographs he is shown holding his rifle. The saddle & bridle he furnished for his war service has been passed down through the men of the family for four generations.
In 1868 he married Mary Maulding in Middleton, IL. The marriage was performed by Mary's father Rev. Andrew Maulding. The couple lived on a farm north and west of Vaughn Anderson's farm along Four Mile Creek. His son John's family lived on the farm for many years. They had seven children. James died in 1929 in Wayne Co., IL and is buried in Salem / Mateer Cemetery in Wayne County.
