Wanda Lou (McKinney) Richardson, 80, of Wayne City, IL went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 7, 2022. She was born January 12, 1942 near Horse Creek in Wayne County, IL the daughter of Arthur & Wilma McKinney.
She graduated from Wayne City High School and married James Ray Richardson on December 22, 1959, who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2010. Together they had 5 children: Dennis Richardson of Bluford, IL; Debbie (John) Wellen of Dahlgren, IL; Trisha (Joe) McCormick of Wayne City, IL; Mark Richardson of Wayne City, IL and Amy (Chris) Wells of Longs, SC.
Wanda is survived by her children, a brother Bill (Linda) McKinney, 2 sisters: Frances Drew and June (Fred) Bradford, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
For most of her life, Wanda was a homemaker but later worked as a seamstress at the garment factory in Fairfield, IL and at Wayfair Nursing Home in Fairfield. She was a member of the Keenes Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Ray Richardson, both parents and 2 sisters; Lois Harper and Judy Byars.
Funeral services for Wanda Lou (McKinney) Richardson will be held at 12 noon on Monday April 11, 2022 at the Keenes Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor John Ashby officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service at 12 noon on Monday at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service at Salem Mateer Cemetery west of Wayne City.
