Peter Saltzman or Salsman or Saltsman

Born: ca. 1765 in Pennsylvania or Kentucky
Died: Feb. 3, 1849, Pulaski Co., Missouri

Buried: Arroll Cemetery, Arroll, MO

Religion: probably Jewish

Married: 1) (--?--) before 1784, 2) Catherine Bailey ca. 1801 in Bullitt Co., KY

Immigration:
Probably started out in Pennsylvania, not sure when the family moved to Kentucky.  They moved to Illinois ca. 1834 perhaps they moved with John & Susannah (Saltzman) Hopkins or they moved because of John's death.  Peter moved on to the Waynesville, MO area in Pulaski Co. before 1840. 

No known military service.

1790 - not found in the census

1810 - Kentucky, Grayson Co. census age 45, Peter and Catherine with nine children

1820 - Kentucky, Grayson Co. census age 55, Peter and Catherine living with six children

1830 - Kentucky, Grayson Co.census age 65, Peter and Catherine with one son

1831 - Dec. 3, Indiana, Posey Co. a Peter Saltzman of Posey County received a land grant signed by Andrew Jackson for the E1/2, NW1/4, Sec. 22, T5S, R13W, 80 acres, Lynn Township

1834 - Illinois, Hamilton Co. Peter & George Saltsman bought things at John Hopkins' estate sale. 

1835 - not on the Illinois state census

1840 - Missouri, Pulaski Co. census, age 75, Peter and Catherine on their own.
