Wanda Jean Hill, 86, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away September 26, 2022 at Countryside Manor.

She was born October 18, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of Earl and Lucille (Reece) Rainwater.

The family chose simple cremation. There will be no public visitation or service at this time. Burial will take place at a later date with inurnment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Memorials may be made to the Donor's choice and will be received by the Sutherland - Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Wanda, a natural born provider, personally served and helped others for many years in the Elwood area. She loved to cook for friends and family, enjoyed flower gardening and was of the Baptist faith. Her sons will remember her as "a real mom, " both to them and many others.

She united in marriage, June 7, 1952 in Mr. Vernon with Lester Hill. He preceded her in death March 18, 2010.

Survivors include her children, Rick Hill and wife Amy, Gary Hill and Rodney Hill all of Mt. Vernon. Also her grandchildren Jason (Jennifer) Hill of Essex, IL, Nick Hill of Omaha, NE, Alec (Clare) Hill of Elwood, IL and great grandson, Jaxson Hill.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael W. Hill.
