Thoughts on Genealogy

Genealogy: Tracing yourself back to better people
I trace family history so I'll know who to blame
Can a first cousin, once removed, return?
Searching for lost relatives? Win the lotto!!
Genealogy: Where you confuse the dead and irritate the living.
Every family tree has some sap in it.
Friends come and go, but relatives tend to accumulate.
Heredity: Everyone believes in it until their children act like fools.

Russell & Cynthia Lathrop

Looking for information on their children:

A daughter born between 1816-1820 in VT, she is listed on the 1820 census and in a Richford, Franklin Co., VT court record. Russell Lathrop lived in Mill School District and had 2 scholars between the ages of 4 and 18. The other would be his son Henry. Did this girl live to adulthood? Did she marry in VT or Canada before the family migrated to IN? If she did marry, did she move to IN and then on to IL?

Marvin b. 1829 in VT was with the family in Ripley Co. IN in 1840 and witnessed deeds for his brother Levi in Richland Co., IL in 1852. What happened to him?

Robertson / Clark

David Robertson (can you get any more vague?) b. 1 January 1800 in VA, d. 15 October 1872 Wayne Co. IL, md. Rebecca Clark in Gallia Co. OH. He may have been born in the part of Virginia that is now West Virginia. They lived in Lawrence Co. OH until about 1842 when David and his two brothers rafted down the Ohio River to Illinois.
