Jane Catherine Bruce Born: ca. 1758 Orange County, VA Died: Sept. 13, 1838 in Gibson County, IN Buried: Unknown Married: James Fitzgerald, Nov. 14, 1787 in Orange Co., VA. She was probably his second wife. She may have been married before as well. Records: 1787 - November 14 - Orange Co., VA - Stephen Fitzgerrell md. Catherine Bruce. Surety William Fitzgerrell. Wit: Jacob Ahart. Stephen, son of James Fitzgerrell. 1790 - not found on census, probably living in Virginia 1800 not found on census 1801 - a James Fitzgerald appears on tax list in Franklin Co., KY
This Shenandoah County Poor Farm cemetery, known originally as the Beckford Parish Glebe (church land), was owned by the Beckford Parish of the Church of England. This cemetery is located in the general vicinity of Maurertown, Shenandoah County, Virginia. Take Road No. 650 Southeast off of Road No. 11 between Maurertown and Toms Brook, Virginia, for approximately one mile. The cemetery is on the right of 650, after passing the Keckley and Fisher homes on the left. The original Beckford Parish Glebe was a part of a tract of land granted by Lord Fairfax, proprietor of the Northern Neck of Virginia, to Abraham Denton on 7 January 1761. George Storm purchased 189 acres of the Denton tract on or about 6 August 1771 from Abraham Denton.

Quest. What is the punishment of sin?
Answ. The punishment of sin is death, which is a privation of a happy life, and being subject to the contrary misery, both the first death, the body deprived of the comforts of this life, and at last severed from the Soul, and the second death which is the death of the Soul.
1. Death is the punishment of sin, Gen. 2.17.
2. It is a privation of a happy life not meerly a privation of life, for then Being should cease, and the Subjects of misery be taken away, and so the punishment ended, but it is a privation of a happy or comfortable life, hence the parts of death are,
Leonora Linton aka Leannah Born: 1764 in Maryland Died: after 1836 Buried: Unknown Married: September 23, 1793, Mordecai Ogle in Allegany County, Maryland by William Shaw of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The license was not issued in Allegany Co., MD. Records: 1790 - Frederick Co., MD census - there are five Linton families that may include the 26 year old Leonora.

Mordecai Ogle, Sr. Born: ca. 1765 in Maryland Died: 1835 Muskingum County, Ohio Buried: probably in Dresden, Ohio as he lived about a half mile north of the town. There is no stone listed in the county. Married: Leonora Linton, September 23, 1793 in Allegany County, Maryland by William Shaw of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The license was not issued in Allegany Co., MD. Records: 1790 - not found on census, Mordecai would have been about 25 years old. His father is not found on the census either. 1800 - Allegany Co., MD census - listed as Mord Ogle family. Mordecai living with Leonora and four children under 10. 1802 - Mordecai moved his family to Muskingum Co., Ohio settling just a half mile north of Dresden.
