Ahnentafel #123 - Elizabeth Tewalt
Elizabeth Tewalt Born: ca. 1805 in Virginia Died: Nov. 1843 in Clay Co., Illinois Buried: Unknown Married: James Christopher Smith June 4, 1822 in Frederick, Virginia According to a biographical sketch of Elizabeth's son John the family left Virginia and moved to Ohio ca. 1828. They moved to Holmes County, Ohio in 1829 and then on to Lawrence County, Indiana. In the fall of 1839 the family moved again this time to Effingham County, Illinois and the next year they moved to Clay County, Illinois where Elizabeth died in November 1843. Census / Records: 1810 not found on census 1820 - Virginia, Stephensburg - age 15 living with her parents Peter & Margaret Tewalt and five siblings. 1830 - not found on census 1840 - Illinois, Clay Co. - age 35 living with James and their eight children ages 2 to 17. Children: William Margaret John Joseph James Elizabeth Jacob Emily
