Married: Mary Ellen Parks, December 4, 1845 in Muskingum Co., OH

Migration: 
Solomon grew up in Muskingum Co., OH.  He bought land in Bartholomew Co., IN in 1847 and began his westward migration at age 27.  Solomon and Mary sold their land in 1853 and moved to Illinois.  They settled in Clay Co., IL for a short time.  In 1858 they were living in Knox Co., MO where their son Thomas was born.  Solomon moved his family back to Clay Co., IL between 1866 and 1870 when they appear on the 1870 census.  By 1880 the family is living in Ottawa Co., KS.  Zanesville to Simpson, Kansas is 917 miles.  It is 279 miles from Edina in Benton Co., MO back to Louisville, IL.

Records:
1830 Ohio - Muskingum Co., age 10, Solomon is living with his parents, six siblings and probably his grandmother.

1840  Ohio - Muskingum Co., age 20 Solomon is living with his parents and eight siblings.  He is the oldest child in the house.

1849 - Indiana - Bartholomew Co., Solomon purchased 40 acres, NE1/4, NE1/4, Sec. 25, T8N, R4E, State Road 58 accesses the property now.

1850 Ohio - Muskingum Co., age 30 Solomon and Mary are living with their 3 children.  The census taker has listed the children as living in the neighbor's home Branch Cheatham. 

1851 April 21 - Indiana, Bartholomew Co., Solomon & Mary sold 1 acre to the White Creek Baptist Church for church and cemetery.  White Creek Baptist Church cemetery is located SE1/4, SE1/4, Section 13, T8N, R4E, Ohio Township.

From Columbus take I65 south to SR 58. Turn right, go 2.6 miles west to Ogilville. Where SR 58 bends to left, go straight ahead onto county road 450S. Continue west 1.2 miles across creek and through small S curve. Turn into grass lane on left. Cemetery is platted one acre which is part woods and part plowed ground on east side of fence row beginning about 400 feet from road. 

1855 not found on census

1860 Missouri - Knox Co., listed as age 20, but would have been about 40.  Solomon is listed as a farmer owning $1000 worth of real estate and his personal property was assessed at $300.  He is living with Mary and six children.

1865 Kansas - Atchison, age 45 an S. Edwards is listed as a 45 year old carpenter born in Ohio.  He is living in a boarding house without Mary and the children.  This may be someone else.

1870 Illinois - Clay Co., age 50, Solomon is listed as a farmer with $1100 of personal property.  He is living with Mary and six children most of whom attended school during the year.  His son Andrew is listed as a farmer owning $2000 of real estate and having $1085 in personal property.

1875 not found on census

1880 Kansas - Ottawa Co., age 60 living with Mary and two youngest children.

1885  Kansas - Ottawa Co., age 65 living with Mary and daughter Virginia

1895 Kansas - Mitchell Co., age 75 living with Mary and their daughter Virginia.
