Migration: 
Moved to Ohio with his parents about 1816 and lived in Gallia County
1821 David appears on the Lawrence County, Ohio tax list. 
1822-1825 David appears on the Gallia County tax lists, but is probably living in Lawrence County

1845 David moves his family to Illinois. The family tradition is that they went down the Ohio River on flatboats.
1857 David bought several tracts of land in Macoupin County, IL.
1866 David sold his land in Macoupin County and probably moved to Wayne County shortly after.

1820 Ohio - Gallia County, age 20 living with his parents and six siblings, farming.  There are four in the household listed as being engaged in agriculture.

1830 Ohio - Lawrence County, age 30 living with Rebecca and four children next to William Carpenter.

1840 Ohio - Lawrence County, Rome Twp., listed as David Robison age b/t 30 and 39 living with Rebecca and seven children. 

1845  not found on census

1850 Illinois - Jefferson County age 50 living with Rebecca and seven children.

1855 may be living in Macoupin County, very difficult to read

1860 Illinois - Macoupin County, age 60 living with Rebecca and five children.  David has real estate valued at $1000 and personal estate valued at $450.  His son Amos is also listed as a farmer with land valued at $400 and personal estate at $600.

1865 not found on census

1870 Illinois - Wayne County, David is 70 and still farming.  His farm is worth $700 and his personal estate is valued at $390.  Rebecca is living with him with their daughter Hannah and her two daughters.
