In Memoriam May 17th

1667 Elizabeth (White) Goodwin age 75 in Farmington, CT.  The daughter of Robert & Bridget (Allgar) White was born in Essex, England in 1592.  She married William Goodwin in Shalford, England in 1616 and had at least one daughter Elizabeth.

1935 James O. Osborn Succumbs at Sims
James Oliver Osborn died Sunday at his home in Sims.  He was 44 years old and had been in impaired health for several months.
Surviving are his widow, one daughter Mrs. Irene Legg of Wayne City, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Rogers of Wayne CIty, Mrs. Rose Harmon of Chicago and Mrs. Flossie Robertson of Bluford, and one brother Home Osborn of Four Acres O.  Another brother Everett Osborn died two weeks ago. 
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in Sims at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon.  Burial will be made in the Thomason cemetery west of Wayne City.
1972 Cora (Irwin) Bowen age 88 in Williston, ND.  She was born in 1883 in Wayne Co. IL the daughter of Corbin & Charlotte (Lathrop) Irwin.  Cora married Henry Bowen in Plentywood, MT in 1914.

2010 Mervin E. Keen, 63, Minerva, formerly of Wayne City-Keenes area, died Monday, May 17, 2010 (today) in Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
He was an oil field worker and truck driver.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.  Visitation is two hours prior to the services Friday.  Burial with full military honors will be in Ten Post Oak Cemetery.
He was born February 5, 1947 in Rochelle, to the late Clyde and Dorothy Shaw Keen.  He married Stephanie Babiczuk Keen on October 12, 1970.  She survives.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the Malvern American Legion Post #375 and Minerva VFW Post #4120.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie; two daughters, Kimberly Keen of Malvern, and Alicia (Scott) Lowe of Minerva; a son, Brandon Keen of Minerva; six sisters, Betty Qualls, Debbie (Ed) Ayers, Rita (Tom) Sager, Judy (John) Gabbard, Patty (Wayne) Robertson and Vera (Bo) Rawls, all of Illinois; and two brothers, Jessie (Renda) Keen of Minerva and Roger (Carolyn) Keen of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by two sisters Wanda Kincart and Leone Robertson.
Funeral services for Mervin E. Keen, 63, of Minerva, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ten Post Oak church with burial in Ten Post Oak Cemetery.  Rev. Don Rector will officiate.  Military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by Fairfield American Legion and V.F.W. posts.  Visitation is from 11 a.m. Friday until the funeral hour at Ten Post Oak Church.  Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City is in charge of arrangements.
Mervin died Monday, May 17, 2010 in Aultman Hospital in Canton, Oho.
Among his survivors are six sisters in the Wayne County area, Betty Qualls and Debbie (Ed) Ayers, of Wayne City, Rita (Tom) Sager and Judy (John) Gabbard of Sims, Patty (Wayne) Robertson and Vera (Bo) Rawls of Wayne City; and two brothers, Jessie (Renda) Keen of Minerva and Roger (Carolyn) Keen of Keenes.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mervin E. Keen family.
